It has come to my attention recently that several topics or threads are being locked for one reason or another . Should we or do we have to use the search facility and search through thousands of previous topics and threads before posting our own thread just in case what we write has already been discused before . rolleyes
you don't have to search through thousands... just put in a key word that is relevant to what you want to post and you'll see if there have been previous posts on it. easy smile
I think within reason you should check. But a lot of the links shown in the search are only very loosely conected to what you ask and when you read them don't cover the subject matter any way !!!
And if people are chatting it must be relevant at that time :undecided:
The short answer is yes -
It is always better to build on a previous discussion rather than try and generate the same interest in a repeated one.
It also means that those of us old timers who are reluctant to join in repeat subjects (like me) because they feel stupid for constantly repeating themselves do not feel alienated and maginalised from those newer members who feel you are ignoring them for not joining in their topic. confused
Searching is a bit hit and miss and relies on the quality of the title given the the thread. - which is perhaps a thought for everyone when picking a title.
And no - I am not going to go and review every title on the site - those of you who start threads can bugger off and do that yourself if you want them to be a searchable resource. lol

looks like we all have to search the topics out before hand .
