St3v3 / Admin / Developers,
Enhancement idea
Just a thought and one that would be easily actioned by just changing the script/SQL

Following on from that, as a purely academic and hypothetical question, in my own head at least, SHREP seems to be all or nothing at the mo? If you enable it, it includes meet rep, site rep, vouch rep? Would it be possible to allow users more than a simple enable / disable of the whole lot, to activate the bits they do want, and disable the bits they don't?
N x x x ;)
Neil.
This would seem like an excellent idea, though not knowing how the development team have coded :: Shrep it might not be one done in the next day or two.
If coded like most things should be, spot the old techie/programmer wink , then I'm betting that "Meet Rep", "Site Rep" and "Vouch" will be actually separate code modules. I'm also guessing that when you do an :: Shrep 'enable' or 'dis-able' you basically set a database 'flag' against your profile and these modules are activated.
It should therefore be possible, with some development and testing, for there to be a more granular set of flags against a profile, so that rather than the current 'global' enable or disable for all aspects of :: Shrep they could develop separate flags for "Meet Rep" enable' or 'dis-able' , "Site Rep" 'enable' or 'dis-able' and "Vouch" 'enable' or 'dis-able' .
Anything is possible Neil, it'll just need the will of members to ask and then to be prioritised against other enhancements that have been requested.
If anyone knows how to set up a 'Poll' function in a Forum Thread, then this might be a useful thing to do so that Admin/Development can gauge some feedback as to how many want this additional functionality to be developed.
I pressed the delete button by mistake when I was about to vouch for someone redface can I get them back?

FL,
You should be able to as they are ::Shrepenabled and also they should still be on your ::Friendslist
Not had that blonde moment, yet, and yes also a blonde  so might have to wait until Admin or St3v3 are in SH 'towers' and log on so as to reply and tell all of us.
Will have a try this end and see if I can figure it out, just going to take a 'brave' pill first mind , ok it actually looks more like a bacon butty than a pill
UPDATE - Funlovers09, I'm equally stumped and raised a ticket for Admin to have a look at on your behalf, hopefully their post a reply here soon
All
Further issue, should save peeps raising further support tickets for this or at the very least you'll understand why this happens and it's not you being confused/thick/blonde, like I was lol
Q, I'm slowly working my way through my "Leave Rep" list and my understanding is that profiles in this list are those :: Friends who've enabled their :: Shrep rather than everyone in my :: Friends list.
However I have the following profiles xxxxxxxx , xxxxxxxx & xxxxxxxx listed, however when I try and "Vouch", upon "submit", I'm then getting the red error message, "Recipient has Shrep disabled"
A, These are users who have enrolled in :: Shrep, i.e. 'enabled' their profile, which has then populated your 'Leave Rep' section, but they've then disabled it so adding feedback is not possible, with the explanation shown.
I've asked whether there is either a fix or workaround for this so as to tidy up your "Leave Rep" screen, which Admin are looking into.
UPDATE - For those with extensive Friends lists or to better manage your "Leave Rep" screen (s), then for those :: Friends who have 'enabled' and then disabled ::Shrepon their profiles. When you encounter this, from your Leave Rep screen rather than doing a Vouch submit, you can just delete that profile within your "Leave Rep" screen, this does not remove them from your :: Friends list just your ::Shrep 'Leave Rep'screen

Sooner have a snog from Mrs Fun mind lol
Funlovers
Admin advise :
It can be restored via the database, when I spotted that post earlier we put in a confirmation message if the Delete button is pressed, just in case it's by accident like this example was. The change isn't yet up, it will be shortly though.
Hope this helps and might stop future 'blonde' moments

ok , a slightly paranoid question,i have 20 leave rep requests, are these just because they are on my friends list,or have they actually requested i leave rep?
i dont want to hurt anyones feelings by not leaving a rep if they have specifically asked.

There's no direct way to request rep. The system will automatically prompt you to leave rep with another user with Shrep enabled if you've met the criteria:
Vouch - if you are mutual friends (via your profile).
Site - if you've sent more than two messages to each other (via the mailbox).
Meet - if you've attended a meet together (created via Shrep).
Erm... this may be a stupid question, so feel free to say so... but I have it disabled yet there's a little blue box at the side with "11" in it... what's that all about?
dunno

Guessing you mean "Leave Rep (20)", yes ?
This means these are 20 mutual Friends from your :: Friends list who have enabled their :: Shrep
Based on what Admin have just posted, of the 20 you have, remember you don't have to do them all at once or at all if you don't wish, these 20 may comprise a combination of Site Rep and Vouch - indicated by a box with either V or S in followed by Submit or Delete.
If you scroll back up this page (4) to my reply to Bouncy, there's some step by step instructions on what to do in order to progress Vouch items.
Once I get another Site Repin my list, I'll do a similar step-by-step excercise (if you wish) for processing these, however the first step is to click submit and it's pretty easy to understand after that.

raised a support ticket ? lol
If you've not enabled at all since Shrep was launched you shouldn't get these, however unsure if you've enabled and then disabled Shrep, as believe that profile flag is set and will still 'log' things against you until a tweak is implemented - there is one in hand from speaking with Admin earlier

Aha... thanks for that. They didn't tell me that when I asked if I could look at it then disable it again. :giggle:
So the 11 people waiting on a vouching... it be a loooooooooooooooong wait! Think never!
EDIT: I do hope they tweak it soon cause the untidy box at the side is making me twitch. redface
Dirty,
Always an optional system anyway, so can pick and chose when / if to use.
Until enable then disable 'feature' aka 'bug' addressed just something to live with for a little while
ADMIN - perhaps something in powerpoint runtime showing peeps what Shrep looks like so that they can decide without having to enable/disable might be useful ?
Yeah cause now I have 14 in the box... you're all a bunch of smart arses!! :giggle:
i have just had a leave shrep request from someone i av not spoke to even tho i av it disabled hows that happen???

Not sure. I would pop in a support ticket about it. If you go to your home page there is a link to click to leave a comment about SHrep. Must be a glitch.

Shrep...............Not using it and don't intend to use it in the future. We are who we say we are and plenty of people know us from our cam in the NW chat room, Munches, socials and meets.:smug::moon:

And that's cool. Other folk may find it useful though. wink

Dirty,
Innocent until proven otherwise lol
And to do that you'll have to use Shrep
xxx
well..they say chat rooms can be cliquey.......wait till anyone see's sh'rep...
Sorry but its just a way for friends to big up one another.
It alienates new folk....as they won't be able to get people to vouch for them.
I have had a look....i use it , because as a single guy if you don't you will get looked down on...but sorry I do think it could have been done so much easier and better.
and you thought the chat rooms were cliquey !!
This is just a way for well established folk to big up one another!!
To end up with this after being told so much time and effort was being put into this is dissapointing. It will alienate new members as they won't have anyone to vouch for them. I have and will use it..because as a single guy if you don't people will wonder why !! But I have to say in this format its a big mistake, and will only be seen to drive away new or potentially new members.

You know Dean, I'm not too sure thats the case confused
If I read a Shrep and someone has played with 612 people, I will find it off putting :?
I'm probably more likely to give a new person a chance than I am someone with verifications.
I have been meeting people without verification for a while now, I certain am not going to need someone to have been verified by any Tom, Dick or Harry that might not be true anyway :?
I'm a big girl now, I can decide without help from others :smug:

Shrep - How to make a simple subject ..complicated and worthless..
Time to start again!
RWL
xx
After all the build up promises and hype what I am annoyed about is this was released broken! We have site members advising the creators on how to fix the thing, hmmm not very impressive.
I probably will use this but more for the munch I am organizing. Something along the line of anyone who adds as friends and turns up can get a vouch, providing I am on the door when you come in or you come and find one of us. As for personally Ive never really bothered adding friends on here cus it reminds me of Facebook and I dont really like Facebook. The people on my friends list are besides one couple people I have never met who added us randomly when the friends option first came out. None of are actual friends are on it lol Until now "Friends" was totally pointless.
For now my Shrep is off.
Bit annoyed, Bristol.
Now I'm about as un-techy as you can get, but so far it seems to be working for me. dunno I have left comments for folk and received comments.
What I am aware of is that if you roll something out across a site as large as this, then there is always going to be scope for unseen problems or glitches. The tech team and admin have been online and are keeping an eye on things, rectifying stuff wherever possible.
If members wish to make suggestions and offer ideas, then I'm sure they'll take them on board in the spirit they were offered. They're probably already working on stuff anyway, but suggestions are always good. wink

Well said Nola wave
I think one of the main issues for most people initially was actually getting their Shrep to actually 'populate' with people/profiles from their :: Friendslist that had enabled :: Shrep.
- This was fixed within 12hrs
The next main area that people will encounter and probably use more, initially, is the Vouch system.
- Again this is working pretty well now with a couple of tweaks already applied and a couple more probably still to come, based on feedback, support tickets and comments in this thread.
Yes, Shrep isn't for everyone or to their taste, that's why users have to enable it, it's default position is disabled and many people will carry on being active on SH without ever feeling the need to use/enable Shrep on their profile.
Personally we are finding some of the features Shrep brings very useful as are some of our friends, whilst other friends believe it's not for them. So what, each to own and we are still friends and we are still talking, etc. with people with non-Shrep enabled profiles.
I don't get it why do we need it?
