I have a stuffed Kestrel because she was my pet bird when I was young and a friend of my Dads (who was a taxidermist) offered to stuff it for me when she died. I was only 11 so I said yes. I just can't bear to throw her away.

Ouch! I had a mole removed from the side of my foot yesterday but the cut goes slightly into the sole, and it still bloody kills! It needed 3 stitches but I'm sure my cat could have made a neater job of it

Swimming in the sea would be fine, but I'd be a bit cautious of exposing your wound in a chlorinated pool that's being used by lots of people. A course of amoxycillin may soon ensue!! If the scar is weeping at all, don't go in without covering it properly - some of the spray on wound covers may work, but be careful of pulling out the stitches.

I'm not entirely sure it's a good idea to go swimming so soon when the wound is still healing though
For certain types of orthopaedic surgery, we generally say that swimming shouldn't be resumed until 6 weeks after stitch removal, to prevent the risk of infection.
Obviously, your wound will be only ickle, and I don't know anything about the protocol for it, but you would assume you could still pick up an infection whilst the wound is still healing with the stitches.
And even though there is chlorine in the water, you get lots of bugs swimming around in there!
Why don't you change the promise to the sauna?!?!
I'm also in need of sick bay- I was doing a promotion night at a hotel last night that involved a last minute dance routine with gymnastics in it, wearing ridiculous heels that i could barely even stand in without wobbling, never mind leap about in!
Anyway, the inevitable happened and i fell tit over arse because my leg gave way during a gymnastics move(but managed to cover up very nicely so noone noticed!)
Anyway, i've really hurt my quads muscle, so i'm hobbling about.
We also ended up not getting to bed until 4, and then i had to get up at 6 and drive an hour and a half back to edinburgh to be in 'proper' work for 8am!!! :shock:
I'm so sore and exhausted and feeling sorry for myself and in need of nursing!
