Hi Folks,
Just thought I would brighten people's day cos it cant get any worse than mine!!!!
Having never ever bought things on credit until a week ago i would have thought that it would be cool but apparently I was wrong.
Anyway the first thing i have bought on credit was my car a T reg Italian Stallion (lol its a Fiat).
The first day I had it some git glanced off my back bumper and in doing so dented my back in a couple of places!! The car is still driveable but it looks damn unsightly!!
Now the car is only worth £3000 and the bodyshop (the one the insurance recommends!!) wants near £2000 to fix it!! That is the dearest quote I have had in my area.
Now the insurance company is considering writing my car off!!! I need the car for work or else i am screwed!!!
Can it get any worse?
I'm slightly confused.
1) Why isn't it coming off the insurance of the person who bumped you ?
2) Why will it stop you having a car if it's written off ?
The insurance will cover the finance, leaving you with neither car nor debt, then, assuming you've been making the payments, you can finance another car. In fact, the finance company will probably fall over themselves to encourage you to do just that.
If they do write it off (and you should probably encourage that) then you'll have the balance, if any, in your hands in a matter of days. If they don't, press the bodyshop hard for a hire car, which they should be able to charge to the insurers smile
Oh dear!!!
Well we recently paid 2500 pound for a peugeot 306 xsi, it was second hand but it was quite a new car.
Anywah it was running great and wen we put it in for its MOT we were in for a shock. Apparently it was a death trap. The wishbones were knackered, the big ends were ready to go and everything so we had to pay alomost a 100 pounds to get it fixed.
The car was damaged in the Tesco Car Park and the git aint left any insurance details!!!
But I do have a couple of leads on the cars, vans and jeeps that were parked next to me!!
But when I do catch up with them though :boxing:
Also I cant get a hire car as i have only been for 6 months!!
I will listen to your advice Jon thanx and see what happens!!

Been driving ? Bugger sad
OK, I'm out of ideas :( Good luck with it !
Same thing happened to me recently but luckily no major damage and a colleague saw the guy and his number plate as he drove away mad If you've had cheaper quotes, you could let them write it off then buy it back and get the work done yourself.....I don't know for sure if this would work for you financially but worth a thought!
This is why I use online shopping....my car is a magnet for supermarket gits! sad
Ask Tesco if they have any CCTV tape of the incident.
