Just had it pointed out that I put look when what I realy meant was luck. I'm finding that a lot lately. Spelling words wrong and asking Diane how to spell words that usualy I wouldn't.
I don't read that often to be honest and the only time I've wanted to read was when I read the Davinci Code by Dan Brown (I ended up reading all his books and am currently reading his new one). So like anything else I've got skill fade!
Without anyone saying they've got skill fade at sex, has anyone else noticed this?
lol, don't beat yerself up, happens to me with every line I write ............ no, honestly. :nodvigourously:
But to answer your very valid point ...
Yes...
I used to build websites for a living, but for reasons far too tedious to go into, I stopped and got into other things.
Recently I have found that I actually REALLY need a site of my own, and despite having my own domain that comes with my isp’s package ........
I've totally lost it
and I mean, totally dunno
I can't even remember how to ascertain wtf my url is for gods sake :shakeheadslowlyindespair:
so yeah, like i said to a friend recently, use it or loose it eh?
wink
Oh, and apologies for making up my own emotes, but sometimes, nothing else will fit lol
It's the same here. I used to be able to remember a lot of things, but I have difficulty remembering them - Ohm's Law for example (well, I can remember V=IR, but I can't remember the rest without using google rolleyes ) and what I learned of Languages (French and more recently Japanese, although I was never fluent in either - just about basic conversation lol ) has to a large extent faded away. I keep meaning to do a few courses to sharpen up but cost and lack of time outside of work have kicked that into touch lately sad
I'll have to seriously consider a few things as I don't want this to continue.....
Languages definitely - A Levels in French and German and conversational Spanish. Not used them for forever and can now barely remember anything.
Music - used to be able to read music... now, well erm it kina looks like squiggles on a page! I remember the note symbols but have forgotten which note is which on the scale.
redface
yep i used to be able to do shorthand at over 130 words per minute, now can only remember a few bits of it
same with sign language, i studied it for 3 years and because i havent used it, most of it has gone, one or two words and the alphabet remain but thats it
When i read the `skill fade` in the forum ,i knew it would be a `squaddie who posted it`
smile
The only skill fade you get with sex is `sexual fitness`. Luckly after an illness i`m working hard to get mine back with the help of mrs leics and a few close `friends`, i`m currently doing very well redface
Handwriting......because thanks to computers I rarely ever write these days, excepting the odd hastily scribbled note which I can never later read confused.

I know how that is!
My handwriting is shocking now. And, being too tired to read much anymore, I find myself hesitating over the spelling of certain words - and - shock horror - finding I have mixed up "there" and "their".
But I have noticed it most with work. When I started singing in my early 30's, I could memorize lyrics after 5 or so practices - now I have to do each new song around 20 times before it starts to stick.
And, worse, the old songs that I've been able to sing on auto-pilot all these years - I've started having ridiculous blanks on some of the verses.
confused

its not very good sad
Phew! I was worried it might just be me!
Yesterday my 10 year old was asking me to define pronouns and prepositions... I had to Google them! redface
Then she was asking me to help her with long multiplication... I just couldn't remember how to do it! :scared:
I do wonder if there's something in the old saying that learning something new makes you forget old stuff. Isn't that why Einstein never bothered to learn his own phone number?
To paraphrase the immortal Homer Simpson
When I leant how to make beer I forgot how to drive!

;-)
i have recently gotten back into reading, i just didnt seem to have time, but now i dont spend half as much time online as i did, i find the long soak in the bath with my book a total treat. I still make sure i write quite a bit even at work, although it gets looked upon with disdain.
the joy of writing a letter and posting it, and the excitement and anticipation of the reply has all been taken away with email and computers, i used to have pen pals all over the world, maybe its something i should look into again
Studying. I've had to do so much lately for my work and I'm far too old for all this crap confused

Here you are Dollop, just remember this

remember the positions of the letters, V at the top and I+R below the line and you can always work it out by using the horizontal line as a 'division' line
Hence
V=IxR as I&R are both below the division line
I=V/R as V is over R
R=V/I as V is also over I
Hope that makes sense, and should you ever need to work out power ratings just remember PIV (P=IxV) which is the calc i use more than anything to work out watts/amps loading wink

I did sign language back at school  Many years later the only thing I could remember was the letter H confused About 3 years ago I got the chance to do a sign language course in work as we had a Def department in our building. Now the only thing I can remember is the letter H dunno

Ta biggrin
I have no practical use for remembering now, but when I was younger and elbow deep in circuit boards, Soldering irons and other geeky things I knew it by rote lol
I'm just surprised I could remember it at all

I forgot most of it as well - I didn't use it often enough. Yet, I was really pleased with myself in the summer when a guy came into the gallery and I managed to sign the info he needed. I got panicky tho when he thought I was adept at signing and tried to have a good old convo with me. :scared:
I remember exactly what I want to remember..... rolleyes

I wouldn't have a clue how to build a working tranceiver any more, yet when I did me project it was hailed as one of the best tranceivers they'd ever seen dunno wouldn't know where to start now redface
