I thought this might be of interest.

I have been using this internet telephone system (VoIP) which actually works, and is a "no-brainer" to install, for a few months now. This means I've been able to make free phone calls to my friends, who are on the same system, with quality nearly as good as a normal phone. It even works fine on ordinary dial up internet as well as Broadband.
As I said, it is free but at some point they will need to find a way to make money from it. Until then, unlimited free phone calls to other users!
If you want to try it out with someone who already has it, PM me and I'll send you my Username.
I would like to point out that I have no connection what-so-ever with this company apart from the fact that I use their product.

Thought I would bump this old thread back up, because I was going to start a new thread but found one already started.
If you dont know anything about , well let me tell u this, its fantastic!
Bascially, its a bit like MSN Messenger but instead of typing, u just speak as long as u have a mike built in or a headset, and speakers of course!
Calling other contacts on their PC is still free, but u can also call other people on their phones for a very cheap rate (apparently, but ive not checked this out yet!).

IMO is IM on Steriods. Bloody brilliant!!
Couple of bits of info though...
To stop all and sundry contacting you... in Options>Privacy set "Only people from my contacts can call" and set "Only people from my contacts can start Chat"
In your profile don't enter an email address or your phone number unless you really like stuff from wierdos smile

Also, I have the following in About:
"You must email me BEFORE you request that I add you to my Contacts. Failure to do so will result in the request being denied."
Even so I still get the odd uninvited request. evil

Have been using it a little while too ... you have to top up credit to make landline calls but it's excellent value (bought â‚¬10 a couple months back for making overseas calls and still have over â‚¬8 credit) ... PC to PC calls are free of course.
Only thing is, if you're both on speakers, you hear yourself at the other end which is mildly annoying. Was wondering if it's possible to use a bluetooth headset for this ? Or if there's a bluetooth headset and mike that is available - I want to avoid getting additional cables/wire connections if I can at all avoid it.

I spoke with my friend with just built in speakers and microphone, and i didnt hear myself at the other end.
Also, you can get a USB phone apparently smile

Watch out for the headset deals on - come with free calling minutes for off calling - useful! (and better than pc speaker and mic!)
