Slap,do you trowel or shovel???

When we were in Notts on saturady we went in John Lewis to use the loo's and had to go through the beauty department.
While we were there i couldnt help but notice that every one of the women behind the counters had make up on so thick that it must have taken a trowel or a shovel to slap it on.
Now i thought that the idea of these counters was to show you how to make yourself look better without the aid of slapping it on. confused

I personally dont use much slap on a day to day basis as i have sensitive skin so it just makes it worse,though i do use eye make up to make me look a little more perked up in the mornings! lol

So are you a trowel user,a shovel abuser or a natural godess????? dunno

It does take me all of 2 mins,how long does it take all you shovel abusers??? :dunno:
I would just like to point out that no insult was inteneded to any one who works behing on of these counters should they use this site!!

Depends on the occasion, but I do like me slap. Spesh the ol' lippy. I got a BJ proof one. Lip ink, from Avon. They've stopped selling it at the mo, tho.

I always wear slap but nothing major rolleyes

its a 5 minute thing cos I have it down to a fine art after years of practise

Less is more. I always feel like drag queen if I've got too much make-up on and I've seen how horrendous other women look when they've trowelled it on.
Clinique for me, btw.

I wont leave the house without my war paint on. And it's the works for me. But I use the right products so don't come away looking like a 2 bob whore.

I rarely wear make up ... although if it's a night out I tend to go full face, but again it has to be subtle ... I have very pale colouring/freckles and dark hair so makeup makes me look a bit false ....

Calista i look the same, though my hair is now streaked blonde.
just eye make up for me to cover the bags, and blush not that i need that manage to do that very easily.

I look like death warmed up without it.
I like to think it looks ok. It is the full works though.
Never really thought about it, so anyone that has met me, go on, let me know if i look like a "2 bob whore"

Geezer butting into a girlie thread ..........
well, girls, my lady uses makeup sparingly except for lipstcik fromtime to time
So, please remeber for the benefit of all the uncivilized males out here that TOO MUCH RED LIPPY will do it for us every time.
And when it gets smeared onto one's , er, er .......-you get the picture.
So here is a vote for trashy lipstick from ane enthusiast's viewpoint

I wear enough to help disguise the start of my wrinkles and bags under my eyes!!
Anything more than that I look ridiculous, if I do attempts to wear dark eye make up i just look like a hooker whos spent too much time a concentration camp! confused

+ its such a pain in the arse putting it on then taking it all off again!

Hi there, well i wear mascara and lippy daily thats all, for the munches i wear full on makeup (for me it includes eyeshadow , maybe liner, blusher etc..) it only melts off anyway lol hope this helps lol love peppsxx

I need a reccomendeation every sodding mascara i get seems to give me bloody spider eyes,all bloody clogs up and make me look like a muppet,so can anyone give me a reccomendation as to where to get some that doesnt make me look like incey wincey??

Very simple solution to this - get your eyelashes dyed and then apply clear mascara - no bog eyed racoon look this way - trust me - been doing it for years. smile

near ,e you can get your eyelashes tinted for Â£15.. but you can also buy diy kits for about Â£5.
i tried one.. and ended up almost blind lol

About a tenner I think - I usually get it done when I have my eyebrows waxed. Not plucked (pun intended) up courage to get other areas waxed yet... does it hurt as much as they say?

Waxing hurts the first couple of times, then you get use to it. I have my legs, underarm and more than just the bikini-line and more than the Brazilian done wink

every 6-8 weeks. Try it, you'll never go back to shaving.

I do my eyebrows as they are very light as are my lashes. Have dyed both myself a number of times and once you get the hang of it its fine. Personally I would get Steve to do lashes for you. It does work and saves you a lot of money. I dont trowel never have as think it ages me but love false tan smile

I'll agree ... bikini line, legs and underarms done here as well ... worst place is back of ankles, worst bit about it all is waiting for it to be long enough to do again :shock:
