Can anyone enlighten me on what is anofficial (or otherwise) on what precisely constitutes Slim, Medium and Large (No, not cocks or any other body parts, I talking about ones frame/build)
I ask from a guys perspective into Ladies sizes.
1)So is it weight? dress size ? overall perception?(although I've no idea of size if your a 8 or a 22)
2) Ladies, how would you reasonably expect us guys to describe our build, ie on which/what criteria?
Small, medium and large to be exact. As a guide Small is a size 10, Medium is 12-14, Large is a 16 (on a good day in the right store). All based on bust, waist and hip measurements.
Every retailer varies, some use vanity sizing, some are still using sizing from 50 years ago. It's the bane of most womens life especially the ones who are an 8 or smaller and a 16 or bigger, those who are under 5'2 and those over 5'9.....and all the others in between for that matter! lol
Don't even think about it unless you're had your brave juice today wink
Ah is that how you measure it .. I always thought I was a medium cause I aint as big as Dawn French or Hattie Jakes .. but not as slim as Halli Berry or Kylie Minogue
DD
Do you have trouble buying new clothes? Or do you buy small, medium or large?
we tryed looking for a nice basque for her ,seems hard to the it right

The problem is not using "old" measures... but shops trying to con women into thinking they are a size smaller than they really are thinking that if their shop makes them a size smaller than the one next door then they will buy from them instead... doh!
Wedding dresses used to be "un-officially" measured a size smaller, so a 10 was really a 12.
The "small," "Medium," and "large" on this site does seem to be more based on the advertisers idea or perception of size as I did see " I'm a BBW" whos size was also listed as 14.
I think the funnyest thing however is seeing posts by men who quote dimentions and size and really don't have a clue that a 38DD is not a size 8 lol
Well, I like to look at this from the view of my face as the only bar stool in the place and a lady needs a seat.
Slim = Just right
Medium = Just right
Large = Just right
Not scientific I know, but the thought has helped me forget a dreary New Year's Eve.
biggrin :D :D
Have a great 2006 everyone!

If you want to know the average size of the lasses in this country, just go into a ladies clothing store late in the day of the sales.
Mostly size 8/10 and 20 and up left. Nothing in the guy who said anything more than a handfull is a waste, must have had either a flat chested wife, or hands like shovels. wink

ohhh do you sew?
giz your address i have loads of stuff that needs doing lol
size meas nothing really cause a size 18 could look big on someone and not on others, i have a friends whos 6ft and a size 18 and does not look fat at all, but on someone 5ft a size 18 would look compleatly diffarent, just goes on the individual really, just look at someone and decide for yourself if they small, mdium or larger wink
Well, as someone who gets drowned in size 8's...............i think they nedd a new size.

Yep, that's exactly what vanity sizing is and it's a pain in the ass.....as well as the bust and the hips! lol
okay... to add a bit of perspective here..... the average dress size of the u.k woman is now a size 16........
so i suppose what people use to term as "large" may not be what it one was......
so when i see "BBW" banded around... most blokes (me included) don't have a clue...... dunno :dunno: :dunno:

a size 16 will always be a size 16, all because women are getting bigger that don't mean a size 16 is not large anymore that just means their's more big women to fill it lol
