The smoking ban in Pubs is really hurting a few people we know (as a non-smoker, don't care), so much so that one is semi-seriously think of some form of Political campaign to get it recinded.
Always one to help him out, and take the piss at the same time, I have come up with a few "altered" parts of speeches that he could use.
"One small dogend for man, one giant roll-up for mankind"
"I have a..cough....cough...cough...dream"
"We shall light them on the beaches, we shall light them in the fields, we shall light them in the pubs, the clubs and the football grounds, we shall never stub them out"
"Ask not what a tab can do for you, ask what you can do for a tab"
Any more offers?

:laughabove:
very good, I like the Churchill
I think it was Tony Blair who said, rather forcefully once:
"Inhilation, inhilation, inhilation"
he may even have formed a carefully brandished fist, or was it a pointing finger?

I have to say being a non smoker its the best thing that could have happened in my opinion!!
We have had a few nights out since the ban and have never enjoyed them as much due to the lack of smoke, i hate smoking and the smell in the morning on your clothes and hair and skin was just putrid!!
For those who want to lobby a political stance then im afraid it just wont work, for every argument you bring to the table there will be a better or just as relevant argument against reinstating public smoking.
Get on and deal with it i say, and at least be thankful that there is now less chance of your kids starting up just to fit in socially, and there is always the health consideration of the chance of getting cancers from secondary smoking that have been significantly reduced now we are smoke free!!
Best thing the Government has done in years!!
biggrin
Srne,
Yes, I agree with you and know there is no chance of the Gov backing down, but the point of the thread was not to argue the rights and wrongs, but have a laugh by changing some famous quotes.

Ahh sorry misinterpretation redface
What smoke through yonder window breaks - Its a load of swingers post munch hanging out of a travelodge!
Alas, poor Dogend, I knew him,
A fagend of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy
He hath borne me on his filter a thousand times; and now, how
abhorred in their imagination he is!
My lungs rim for him
Here hung those tips that I have kissed I know
not how oft.
Where be your coughing now?
Your gumboils? your bongs? your flashes of the zippo,
that were wont to set the table on a roar?
Not one now, to mock your own tobacco? quite hand-rollen?
Now get you to my pocket’s chamber, and lift out, let
the paint be black and gold, to this brand it must smoke to ecstasy ………
With the most humble apology to the bard :lol2:
When shall we three meet again.
In thunder, lightning or rain.
When the lunch is over and done.
When the match is lost and won.
That will be ere the set of sun.
Where the place?
Outside the pub
There to meet with Marlboro.
Good grief i do laugh :lol2: brilliant!
