its finally snowing in saddleworth, this means with 2 inches of snow on the ground that the schools will close, traffic will come to a stand still, and oldham council will not send the gritters out to so called grit the roads, because the roads are unpassable....i remember when winters were winters none of this scattering of snow we have now....does anyone else remember...5 ft snow drifts..people out digging there cars out...my kids think i'm joking when i tell them this....how can places like buvaria and the swiss manage year in year out with the snow fall they get......the uk gets 2 inches of snow and its emergency stations.....makes me chuckle...!!!!

So it takes snowy weather to bring Sophiebifem to post on these forums for the first time for ages. Well let's hope there's plenty more then. lol

Snow shower on this side of the Pennines (Hudds) this morning too.

Update : on a big hill approx 6 miles from M1 Junction 28 - and we've got proper snow!!!! biggrin

roads are still clear but it is settling a little now elsewhere, driving conditions are poor so if you're heading anywhere near this area, please take care! visibility is poor, Junction 28's down to one lane Northbound (accident) and A38 off J28 is down to one lane (roadworks!) rolleyes

Wolverhampton..... Blizzard conditions, driving conditions are dreadful....

I know how you feel Lissa as Steve doesn't finish work until midnight (He works in West Bromwich) and as I have already exprienced ice on the way home I wont rest until he walks through the door..... kiss

It just took me an hour and a half to get home from work!
It normally takes me 10 minures! The snow is really bad here and I was really scared driving back - skidded a few times. :shock:
But all's well now though, I am inside and drinking Baileys and feeling all Christmassy!
