Oh sorry for pulling your leg.
there's really no need to consider the situation as being any worse than meeting any other stranger who you actually don't mind sitting next to on a bus or sharing a table in a cafe.

Let someone you know well enough who your meeting, where, and if possible, try and get something like a registration number texted to them, get them to phone you half an hour after your due to meet them just so you can have a reason to escape if need be or just confirm that all's well. Also don't under any circumstances to do things if you feel at all intimidated.

just get to know them first.
if anything sets alarm bells ringing in your head dont meet them. your reaction is usually the correct one.
relax and enjoy it.

the registration number is brilliant... and what I do. I always tell the meet that is what I have done too. If I get the slightest bit of doubt at all about them personally.. not the pre-meet butterflies then I cut short or call off the meet. I always tell them too and if they 'kick off' which they have done I know I made the right choice.
There was a time when I cancelled a meet and the chap was so lovely about it and understanding when I said that it just didn't feel right, I met him a year later and had a great time.
Always tell someone where you are meeting and what time you will be leaving. If you decide to go back to theirs then tell your 'safe person' where it is your going... and always take your own transport so you can leave whenever you want too.
Oh, and always kiss them before deciding that you want to fuck. If there is no chemistry in the kiss there will be nothing in bed.
oh and the cam thing is a great idea. Never done it, but tell me how it goes.

I think we all know what it feels like to set out on a new adventure.
But in asking the question here on the site; one is seeking reassurance from people who 'hypothetically' you are considering you may need to feel safe from. So there would appear to be some contradiction in doing so.

The theoretical person is being met in a neutral public place first .

Lady adlwych (My wife) is lucky to have freinds (who both swing them selves and can be found on this site) and if she meets a male in town she is able to take them there if pre planned, there for they are there for back up should it be required.
I think if she was to meet some one outside this area we would require a meet together, maybe just in a pub where we could all meet first.
So far we have avoided any no showsby just arranging pub meets before the proper meets.

Can only echo whats been said above really.....
Use your own transport...
A phone call to a trusted person after say 30mins to let them know all is well or for them to come get you...
Registration number of their car...
