Someone was having a go at me the other day ( can't remember the exact context ) and they told me to 'get a life'. I replied 'Oooohh, what's one of those then? Do they do them in Tesco on a BOGOF?' Then they got the hump with me dunno

They obviously didn't get my humour so as in my favourite saying 'If I have to expalin, you'd never understand' The joke fell flat on it's tits :roll:

Happens all the time to me confused

..Something to do with the fact that I work all over Europe and I'll come out with some light hearted banter to find that what the English think is humourous doesn't always translate into other countries definition of funny....
Perhaps we need a European Commission of Humourous Studies... :sleeping:

Admittedly not as much as it used to happen, but people always thought I was being sarcastic or moody.
My face/tone often doesn't match the intention behind my words, I frown a lot and don't tend to laugh aloud. Don't I sound appealing? :lol2:

my shining whit can be seen as serious comment... usually causing distress or concern... or better still, forcing people to slowly back away... a rictus grin thier faces, nodding in a *just humour it* manner...
on the other hand... when serious... laughter prevails!!

On the net yes alll the time, not so much in real life. I like comedy like Blackadder, Victor Meldrew and Jack Dee which is moany and sarcastic. A lot of the time I try to use this kind of funny on the net people just take it as moany and sarcastic. I give up trying to be funny on the net now most of the time saves the hassle of having to explain the joke.

Always difficult to get any kind of dry wit across in print! It's the stuff I find funniest though.
