De_Sade
I'm so sorry to hear that. I can understand how you feel. Its hard to lose someone you love.
Regarding the jokes, Unfortunately because of their celebrity status people seem to think they are open targets for all, be it good or bad.
I am in total agreement to be honest. I have not liked any of the 'jokes' regarding Steve Irwin, as much as I didnt about 9/11 Princess Diana etc.
People say people use humour to cope with grief. I cannot see how they can be grieving for someone they didn't know. Unfortunately thats the power of TV nowadays, people know people they don't if that makes sense.
One again De_Sade please accept our deepest sympathies

I dont post on the forum very often De Sade, and I have never spoken to you before but I just wanted to say how sorry we are to hear of your loss. Not keen myself (personal opinion) on the sick jokes mentioned but your post just absolutely made me sob!
We are parents ourselves and the thought of your friends poor kiddies is heartbreaking. We have lost people close to us so we do know what you are going through.
Again, sincere and deepest sympathies

I won't offer you any sympathy over and above the same as I would as a human being to any other human being over the loss of someone or something they regarded as a part of their live.
I think you may have misunderstood some of (my in particular) opinions/comments of "gallows" humour and some of the reasoning behind it. It's not so much about humour, as attitude to death.
Such is my concern about that, I would very much welcome the opportunity to chat over a pint. At yourleisure and instigation.
I too would like to pass on my deepest sympathy at this difficult time!
I do not, however, feel that a thread asking people to take the piss out of the situation serves any purpose, and can only end in confrontation.
I am therefore locking this thread. If anybody objects, please feel free to PM me!!
