Hi Everyone,
I had to share my huge step forward with you all.
Four yeasr ago I took an overdose and since then I havent ben able to go out to work and I have been battling depression ever since- particularly as I am in a situation that I dont like but I cant do anything about it.
I also had problems in that I couldnt go back into my old career cos I now have a mental health recod.
However 14 days ago I took courage in both hands and went for an interview at my local sainsburys and last Saturday started as a checkout operator.
I know to some this seems reslly insignificant but for me it is huge, I am loving working again and I am coping with it - although a wee bit tired - thus proving I can contribute to the house and I am not completely useless!!!!!

Hey Babe....well done. Like they say - the first step is always the hardest, so it's gonna be full steam ahead for you now. Good luck kiss
And don't forget.....supermarkets have great car parks, so there's something for you to do in your breaks too lol
Well done Olive, I can totally relate to what you have been through. I have been battling depression and anxiety for some years now and over the last two years it had reached a peak (I hope) and I am finally feeling like I am getting somewhere too. It is a huge achievement, I gave myself a huge pat on the back (metaphorically speaking rolleyes ) last week for going to Satins party and not having a panic attack so I know what a big deal it is to make steps like that back into the real world.
Congratulations and good luck keeping going xx
((((hugs)))) Olive!
well done! I know how important it is to prove to yourself that you can get and hold down a job in the face of everything. So pleased for you! Small steps lead to great leaps in time! kiss
