What songs remind you of you childhood and teenage years? and why confused:
some of mine are
- I am the music man always reminds me of a campsite we used to go to every summer until i was about 8 and we used to get on the stage to dance to silly songs along with songs like Superman, The birdy song and redface Its an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini
The sad thing being i can remember most of the moves surprisedops:
Scat man, B*witched - rollercoaster, Cotton eye joe, Saturday night all remind me of disco's i used to go to as a youngish teenager rolleyes and Stay another day reminds me of my first boyfriend lol oh the embarrassment loon think my age is showing yet
Oh my gosh  ive just come across Captain Jack I had this on cassette and used to annoy the life out of my mother with it, blimey feel all chavish again now, where did i put my burberry cap :giggle:
So what songs remind you and why?
 dont be shy!
Tan I remember the Scatman, it reminds me of a certain holiday camp we went to when I was a kid.
Bangles- Eternal Flame my mother played it to death!
I loved take that and remember wathing the prey video in awe of the near naked men on screen redface

I remember doing the same over freddy mercury

I was gutted when i found out he was gay
Ghostriders in the Sky, and The Power of Love, both remind me of my dad as he listened to them over & over again.
Matchstalk Men reminds me of being in the working mens club on a Friday night- when I was little I'd always get up on stage & charm the audience with my cuteness. :smug:
I'll be there for you reminds me of my first break up.
I can't think of anymore off the top of my head- but the moment something reminds me of a song I find I can remember all the words.
Down in the meadow where the wind blows free, in the middle of a field stands a lightning tree.
It's limbs all torn from the day it was born for the tree was born in a thunderstorm.
CHORUS
Grow, grow, the lightning tree, it's never too late for you and me;
Grow, grow, the lightning tree, never give in too easily.
This song still gets me right here >>
:bounce: Where's your papa gone? (Where's your papa gone?)
Little baby Don (Little baby Don)

Ooh-We, Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheep, Cheep
Woke up this morning and my mama was gone

Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheep, Cheep, Chirp :bounce:
I've just been looking through my CDs at songs I want on the computer for my party so we just put a playlist of everything on the media player. Came across a few songs that remind me of being a young teenager:
Saturday Night - Whigfield This always reminds me of an end of term disco we had in our form room in year 7 and I got taught the moves biggrin
Rhythm of the Night - Corona This reminds me of when a friend at school was taking me home in her mam's car
Don't Look Back in Anger - Oasis At the year 7 and 8 disco in the school hall this got played. We had a Spanish teacher called Sally and this teacher was always at these discos stood by the door. So we all used to sing at the top of our voices " Sooooooooo SALLY can wait, she know's it's too late" obviously with the emphasis on the word Sally lol
Prior to early secondary school, I really have little memory of songs. Apart from we did this quiz once about songs in the charts, in year 6. the question was "Who sang Mr Vain?". I didn't know so i asked someone and wrote down what I thought they'd said, which was Could She Beat, rather than Culture Beat redface
Eeee we used to always get wrong for singing Charlie Had A Pidgeon on coach trips to the swimming baths, fields trips etc.

Oi Miss Cream.... how old do I feel reading that???
That Oasis song was a hit when I was at university and you were bopping to it in year 7 and 8!?!?!
My teenage years were dominated mainly by glam rock, some of which I still love to listen to but one band has stayed top of my faves list since the early 70s and that's Queen biggrin

A lot of late 70's and 80's music (God, how old am I?).
Since you've been gone - Rainbow
Long Hot Summer - Style Council
Something inside so Strong - Labbi Siffri
Save your kisses for me - Brotherhood of Man
to name but a few.
xxxxx
When I was young : "Island in the Sun by" Harry Bellafonte (I think).
When I was a teenager : The whole of the "Goodbye" album by Cream.
The Battle of Epping Forest by Genesis as it was the first time I'd ever heard swearing in a song (and used to giggle in the car when my dad was driving and I was listening to the cassette).

My son has loved this song ever since he was a baby smile
Simon and Garfunkel, the Boxer (mainly) reminds me of the time my childhood sweetheart and I lay in a cornfield watching a lunar eclipse (we were almost 14).
I have loads and loads of music/memories and could possibly go on forever but that one really springs to mind.
A song called Big Bad John. Someone called Jimmy Dean sang it and it used to frighten me to death when I was a kid
