Not you favourite song but one that you feel some connection to.
This song has lots of meaning for me, beyond what is written below. This song came out when a young lady and I parted company, we parted friends but I expected our relation ship to last forever. The singer put so much emotion into this song, it has always been very emotional for me, even now.
Most of this song was written by R.E.M. drummer Bill Berry. He quit the band in 1997 shortly before recording their album Up. After that album, the band almost broke up, but decided to continue as a trio. Berry became a farmer.
This is an anti-suicide song. Berry wanted to reach out to people who felt they had no hope.
On many R.E.M. songs, Michael Stipe purposefully sings indecipherably. He sang very clearly on this, however, because he didn't want his message getting lost.

Thanks fem, no need to be sorry, its the only certain thing in life wink It is amazing how much emotions a simple song lyric can bring about
My Dad served in the Cameron Highlanders during WWII, as a consequence he loved the bag pipes and salt on his porridge
This was played at his funeral

This song means a lot to me as it was what my neice chose to have played at our nephew in law's funeral. He was only 23 and was diagnosed and died of cancer within 2 weeks of diagnosis. This happened 2 years ago and I still cannot listen to this song without it upsetting me

There's a couple,
You'll never Walk alone -lfc, my reds but also it does give you some inspiration when your on your ass and things don't seem to be going right,
When you walk through a storm hold your head up high, and don't be afariad of the dark, at the end of the storm , theres a golden sky, and the sweet silver song of a lark; Walk on walk on with hope in your heart, and you never walk alone.
another, Beyonce' if i was a boy.
After 13 years of ture devotion, my much loved red staffy died in my arms 18 months ago, it broke my heart; It was a fantastic friend.
This song seems to have been playing around then.

Wow what an intense thread, I've been really moved by the posts so far. I tend to keep my emotions close to my chest a lot of the time but found myself getting choked up. Some great tunes here.
I'm gonna choose some lighter ones myself and try and lift the mood a little.
This is the song that changed my outlook on life after my marraige went south. It was like they wrote the song about my ex. I just loved the way they turned losing into a positive. It kinda helped me draw a line under what had been and steer a new course.
Bowling for Soup - Luckiest Loser.

For a while when I was younger and suffering low self esteem I kinda assumed an alter ego as a protective shell when going out. Dave Lee Roth was a big hero of mine back then and I used to kinda think of myself as "Dave lee Rob" hahahaha how sad was that. Dave was a rock star, Witty, marshal arts black belt and an adrenaline junkie who love to live life. He was everything I wished I was.
I always loved this particular song as it's just so off the wall. It's also the one I'll Karaoke too if you get me tipsy. Seems to have been almost prophetic too haha.
Dave Lee Roth - Just a gigolo

This song has just got some amazing lyrics ( plus I went to see them recently ) and probably sums me up in certain respects. the words aren't so descriptive persay but is one line that I'll be pinching for my profile rewrite. What it doesn't say but intimates is electric in the right atmosphere.
Muse - Undisclosed Desires

Anyway... I have a bit of a personal soundtrack thing going on where if I hear a song, usually there is a memory attached to it of some kind, depending on the song, of course.
These are an ickle bit spesh because Nellie and I howl along to them in the car while having a cheeky hand hold in between changing gears and steering. smile

The first another funeral one, played at my Sisters her favorite song

This one was playing on the radio a lot when me and Mrs Tweeky were first together and it always takes me right back to those times when I hear it. She hates it though lol

This one I supposedly used to bounce up and down on the front room carpet too in my nappy wearing days

This song means so much to me, it says all that I need to say to someone I love very very much who can`t always be with me but who I`d wait a million years to be with.

With Madame Smooth currently being treated for cancer for the second time and in hospital with the chemo not going too well we have already decided that our absolute favourite and one to be played at the funeral of who ever goes first is Louis Armstrong's 'We have all the time in the World'.

Thought of another one, though it will mean more to me as the years pass than it does now.

I sing this to my daughter pretty much every night at bedtime.
