Ahhh this whole thread has been a trip down memory lane! Lovely! Yes, Jamboree bags were called lucky bags and they always had some crappy plastic toy in them and some poor sweets. The sweet tobacco stuff was called 'Spanish Gold' I think and it was made from coconut. 'Confederate money', I used to collect those! Aztec bars, rather like a Mars Bar. I think they reintroduced it a few years ago as a retrospective line. Wasn't as good as I remembered it!
Ok so who remembers Curley Wurley (not sure about spelling), Mint Cracknell or Pink Panther Bars?
LC biggrin
I may have been the last person to eat an original aztec bar, I had an army issue ration pack in 1989 with an aztec bar in it, the chocolate had crystalised & was solid white.
& it was lovely
Does anyone know where to get proper sherbet anymore?
Whats 26 miles 365 Yards long?
Snickers, it not right is it.
confused: :?: :?: :?:
Ah !!! Yes = I remember >>>>>
"Sweet Coupons" and the "Ration Book". Those where the days.
And I am Not Old lol wink
Fred (aka Medic1)
Aaah Treats !!! I remember them. Alex they may have changed them to M&Ms but they forgot to add the toffee ones... sad :(
Ooh and spangles orgasmic !!!!!!!!! cool 8-)
Bubble Gum Cards. Packs of cards with a bubble gum which had a part of a big picture on the back. Collect them all and you had the entire picture. Only ever completed the Thunderbirds one though!
As it happens I just have exactly the right web site for you. As has been said already Spangles came back and then went again, history also on this site.
However the site is full of trad sweets including acid drops and they mailed me last week to remind me they are still about.

Only a day behind? I'm doing well! Anyway it's about the passing of information and in truth I wasn't interested enough in the thread to actually read it, but thought the info might be useful.
