As many of you know dek is in the mining in todays news has really brought home how dangerous his job can be

He has visited and worked at that certain mine many times and knows many of the 75 (and counting) found dead and knows many of the injured
We both glad and sad at the same time as it really does bring home how lucky he is not to be there
I would like to ask you all to spare a moment in thought for the dead miners families and the injured
Tan x
ohh thats not nice and quite frightning condolenses to all sad
That's awful.
We all wish those in what is still a very dangerous industry, well.
Stay safe Dek.

I'm with you on this one Tan xx :therethere:
Its sad that in todays technological age we cannot find safer means of extraction for mined minerals and that so many lives are still lost each year.
The families that are left to pick up the peices are the ones if feel so sorry for.

My heart goes out to all those involved, and to add to last post, there are other methods of extraction, including Open Cast! But this along with other methods are generally Disliked by the public. i.e; Out of site, out of mind.
And in a lot of cases these alternative methods can be of no use in certain circumstances or areas!
Bless them all!
god tan hun just glad he was not there at the time ,makes you think about fate ,right time right place stuff . me dad was in a bad one many years ago ,our harts go out for the familys not so lucky.
We both come from mining familys so things like this always make me shudder and be thankful we havent lost anyone. our thoughts are with the families of the men who were lost.
Thanks for the replys everyone
your right about fate though northeastcouple the russians did want him to go to that mine 2 weeks ago but the spitsbergen company decided they would pay more for him to go nxt week how lucky eh
The worst mine accident dek has been in was in this country years ago when he was stuck down a mine for 3 days but got out without injury
and as said its the families that i feel for all those fathers, sons, husbands, partners, brothers and friends lost in one go Very sad news for the mining industry
