The people who think it's a personal publicity stunt seem to have missed the bit that states that what triggered the investigation was a complaint by someone in the cabinet office.
Perhaps the cabinet was in on it then? rolleyes
It goes deeper into the heart of Government than people will give credit for Peanut, which is why it is more worrying than anything else and why people should be taking more notice of what is being done in their name (and with their money!)
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
George Orwell
Could have been a lot worse, they could have sent these 3 around to arrest him

I watched the news last night and saw the CCTV footage of that and have to say the three coppers deserve to do a stretch for what they did to that guy....

We totally agree, but the 3 JPs who originally found him guilty after viewing the footage who also ordered him to pay the officers compensation should do a stretch too.

And they want to "improve" this legalised thuggery by giving them Taser guns.
Well at least they dont sit by and watch demented truck drivers set fire to trucks full of lambs eh rolleyes

Thats right yes......3 police did...
Not dozens like the incidents I was talking about.....
Sick and tired of hearing this country slated by those that dont even live here anymore....evil
Its got its faults (plenty of them no doubt) but so has everywhere else....
Glass houses and stones spring to mind....
Seems you only hear what you want to hear and disregard the rest..
Same old Steve sad
I'm British by birth and European at the behest of the State which gives me the opportunity to choose a wider area in which to live - as indeed it does you too!
Having the ability to live in France makes it no more likely that I would complain about bad treatment being dished out in England than if I lived in Scotland or Wales.
And even if I still lived in England, I would have still complained about the appalling treatment of that innocent bystander and the shocking way English society is going.
I was uncomfortable with England and having had the opportunity to do something about it, I did - as opposed to just weaselling on about it.
If you have a problem with that, there is nothing I can do to change it. C'est la vie
Say what you like about me I really dont give a fuck to be honest....
I have way more important things going on in my life but my statement still stands....
I'm sick of people who no longer live here taking every opportunity to bring the country down.....
Now if you include yourself in that group of people C'est La Vie .....
I'm done with this thread........Diss/flame me at your leisure....
Well, that's settled then
I hope the job thing sorts itself out ok for you.
How on earth did this thread devolve into a debate on police brutality and subsequently a personal attack?
No idea Ben.
It seemed to flow naturally in to it though for some reason!

As is quite often the case!
Strong subjects bring about strong arguements......it happens.
There are two ways people can take this
The government did it to ?
Errr...what exactly ?
Ahhh..............
TO GET BAD PUBLICITY !
That's it, they wanted news stories about how they suppressed free speech !
Mind you, the cons have history of using the police to get their own back.
As well as using them to beat the crap out of strikers.
Well, you can read the cps guidance on misconduct in public office , so you can do the judgment bit yourself.
Maybe blogger got it right ?
n fact, if you were a police chief who really hated Brown an wanted to make him look as Stalinist as possible, you couldn’t do better than send anti-terror police round to search the Commons office of an Opposition MP and then arrest him

Dirty tricks....do not the CONS make a much better job of than the LABs !

I subscribe to this theory from the same source..
The reason the public send MPs to parliament is to scrutinise the government, using any means at their disposal. So either there is a lot more to this than we know, or the police have made a huge blunder which strikes deep at existing concerns about civil liberties in Britain.

It would not be the first time the police have made-up laws to suit themselves.

You just do not need the stories about Brown stitching-up the tories, the police make a good-enough job of being dimwits on their own. And in any case, you can bet your ass that the spooks are watching everyone....ruling or opposition.
No, it's just the police making the worst of a bad decision and then blaming everyone else. Something they are getting very good at. Suspiciously so.
Mind you:
I dont know if anyone has noticed - the powers that be always create an 'outrage' story for the hounds of the press to pounce on before they sneakily release more bad news or introduce back door emergency powers.
Of course the distraction stories are made for the education sheep that were created as voting proles - as that is the way the education system is being massaged for the future. Watch this space - the divide is growing and soon there will be a mindless mass of cattle voters topped by the small yet frustrated groups of voting elite. Oh - welcome to Capitalised communism - just my opinion of course - what do I know.....shhhhh!! lol
Just a few things said in the past, by famous/infamous people, that may be food for thought:
“How fortunate for leaders that men do not think.”
Adolf Hitler

“The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed.”
Adolf Hitler

“When an opponent says: 'I will not come over to your side,' I calmly say, 'Your child belongs to us already. You will pass on. Your descendents, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time, they will know nothing else but this new community.'.”
Adolf Hitler

In a speech on 6th November 1933
(Consider how the government is keen to 'teach' children about 'global warming' and 'speeding').
“The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”
Hermann Goering

Speaking at the Nuremburg Trials
18th April 1946
And, from another source:
“We can't expect the European People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism.”
Nikita Khrushchev

(Replace "Socialism" with "Environmentalism" & "Communism" with "Totalitarianism")
