I lost my Step dad to cancer... he went in his sleep too.... As sad as it was we were very happy for him to pass away with minimal suffering. I Cant say I know how you feel because we all feel sadness in different ways So just kind thoughts for your loss Steel.
I am very sorry Steel. My mum has cancer at the moment so I know its a long battle which may have an ending I dont want to think about. You have many friends here who care about you. At times like there are no real words that help but just know that you are not alone. Love Corrie xxxxxx

I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts over the last few days, both in the forums and personally. I have been inundated with offers of help and it is greatly appreciated, it really is at times like this you find out who your friends are. My world fell apart on Monday, besides being my dad he was also my best friend and I will miss him. What made it worse in a way was that it would have been my mother’s birthday yesterday, he missed her greatly for the last two and a half years, they had been together over 50 years when she died. My only consolation is that he died peacefully in his sleep and is now with her again. He was well liked and yesterday a friend came round with a card, it read: ‘We are so sorry to hear about your sad loss. Your dad was a gentleman and a good friend and will be sorely It still chokes me to read that but it sums him up completely. The funeral will be held next Tuesday followed by a reception at his local pub and I have decided that people should make donations to cancer research in lieu of flowers. The staff at the hospital have been fantastic and I would like to be able to give something back. Thanks to Vicky UK for placing the original post and I hope to see you all soon and thank you in person. Steel
Steel, let me add my condolences All who know you, and those that don't share in the loss of a loved one Their thoughts, and mine, are with you at this sad time NC
