This afternoon Mr W and myself spent the afternoon at my friends house. Said friend has just flown the nest & set up home with his boyfriend. Whilst talking, it slowly started to dawn on me that their circle of friends comprises of -almost exclusively- other gay males.
The reasons for this I would imagine are very varied, and not realy what I'm on about. It got me thinking though.......
If you're straight, and especially male, do you have any close gay male friends? Even if you're not in the least bit homophobic, would you feel comfortable having a close homosexual friend? I don't mean aquaintance- I mean the guy you choose to go for a game of pool with. The guy you would ask to be your best man etc.
Would the (sadly) almost inevitable sniggers and whispers get to you? Or do you/ would you simply not give a monkeys?
A close, straight female friend of mine counts a lesbian as her best friend. However, I don't know of any blokes in the same situation, so I'm just curious again.

one of my very good friends is gay, i play darts with him and drinks coffee and whatever good friends do. He has also be a shoulder to learn on for me, personally i see it some elses problem if they snigger.
sadley there will always be small minded people.

Mrs Kiss and I have only a couple of 'gay' aquaintances. But her best male friend has just come out as gay.
Of course sexuality etc doesn't matter to me 1 bit, it's just the way it's turned out friends wise.

I've got quite a few Gay friends. Although that's probably because my Brother was Gay and my Niece is a Lesbian. So I've always been open to "alternative" life styles. Having said that one of my close friends that never knew my brother is Gay.
