OMG
I was in chat at today..when i heard a noise.. I thought it was the dog on the kitchen door...but no!!!!! it was somebody trying to get in my front door  Then came the knocking... followed by banging
As you can imagine i shite myself.. Froze... heart beating extremely fast then began shaking  The bangs on the door got louder and then my mobile began to ring... OMG!!!! Thankfully it was 1 of the lads from chat to see if i was ok... of course i wasn't... but with him on the fone i managed to get upstairs in the dark and look out the window... After more banging the bloke left... somebody i'd never seen in my life confused I watched him go all the way along the street and out of sight...
I was advised by people in chat ro ring the police.. I did.. poor bloke on the other end must of wondered what had hit him... I was in so much of a state i could hardly breath redface I gave a discription and hey called me bk about saying they hasn't found anybody in the area..and they couldn't get anyboy out to me as there had been an emergency.. Needless to say... i didn't sleep much when i eventually went to bed!!!
:?
Anyhow...thanks to all those who looked after me when i very numbly returned to chat lol
ooohhh Lil how scary...((hugs))) for you hun....maybe it was a drunk guy at the wrong house thinking his wife had locked him out...that happened to us once....I can imagine how scared u were....and fab that you had some good mates to check you were ok!
Sorry - perhaps I should have rang before I popped round!! redface surprisedops:  wink
Seriously though, it must have been frightening for you and I am glad you are OK now!! kiss
OMG Lilmiss, how horrible for you!
A similar thing happened to my sister, it turned out out was an elderly man who had wandered from a nearby nursing home, and thought he was locked out of his own house.
If it's any comfort to you, the fact that the person was banging on your door, implies that this was probably a case of blind drunk and a wrong front door rather than anything more sinister.
Horribly scary though!
In edit - Mrs Bone beat me to it!
i had something very simmiler happen.
luckly i lock my door when i come in from work now every evening after attending a police home safety course. i never used to till i was going up to bed for the night. aparently nor do alot of ppl.
the guy had tried the door, dread to think what it would be like if i hadnt.
glad your safe now. it was probally just a lost drunk
xx fem
Yes, i agree it prolly was somebody knocking the wrong door... but you don't think that at early doors with a child in bed.
Also the people across the road had been out and usually bring friends home afterwards... SO i wondered if he poss meant for there house but got it wrong with my light being on.. I wasn't gonna open the door and ask tho lol
Sounds like one of the many urban legends that are about these days, its basically goes that groups of people or individuals go around knocking on doors at crazy hours of the night if people answer they torture or kill them!!
There has just been a film made about it released soon in this country based on real life events!!
A good idea to always have your door locked ours is locked at all times even during the day with the keys out of reach.
Probably just some pisshead getting the wrong house but as he walked down the street and out of sight this seems unlikely most people get the wrong house but not entirely the wrong street.
However in my teens i did get woken up by the new owners of my parents house outside the front door after we recently moved as i had got a taxi back to the old house under the influence of red thunderbirds and kestrel super strength!! rolleyes
I know I should keep my front door locked at night but I couldn't bear to lock myself in during the day. I'd rather move house than live somewhere that I needed to do that. The people across the road have their alarm on all day - you can hear it beeping when the go in and out doing the gardening. I reckon they are crackers. Mind you, I put the chain on if I am in the bath or in the garden at the back.
I often have the door wide open to air the house if it's nice. Maybe I'm wrong but it wouldn't make it right for someone to burgle me, it is still a crime. I'm lucky that I live in a safe, quiet neighbourhood.
Flippin heck Miss... I've just read this!
I really hope you are ok and over the shock, I would have been beside myself :therethere:
