Indeed! I think it was Robert Plant who first came up with 'shang a lang' during one of his vocal improvisations on 'Dazed and Confused'. I can just hear him singing it now........Shhhaaaang....urrrr.....laaaaanng! Oh, yes! Of course it was innuendo, as with most of Planty's orgasmic vocalizations. However, it was the Rollers that nicked it and made it into something more much more innocuous. Still the meaning was the same! We've all had a Shang a Lang at one time or another! The meaning of the term is too filthy to discuss on this site but if you look at some of the Rollers suggestive lyrics you'll get the general idea.

You see, once a Rollers fan always a Rollers fan! They were notorious at recruiting young females into their Satanic cult, only to be deflowered on their sacrificial alters.
