Am I the only one that is becoming fed up with the new super thin, super useless carrier bags.
When will they learn that these bag are 1 no better for the environment and 2 do not even work too well at carrying shopping !!

I bought a lifetime bag from Somerfield. I've got them from all the supermarkets but Somerfield's effort is by far the best... by miles in fact! It's a black nylon carrier, fits loads and squishes up to fold into itself and hides away in my handbag without taking up a load of space!
Just thought I'd share!

The problem with plastic bags isn't the plastic - it's the single use.
The plastic simply doesn't break down. The bags are filling landfill and blowing all over the countryside. You'll see them in hedgerows all over the place.
It's about as sensible to throw a plastic carrier bag away after one use as it is to throw a mobile away after one call. Just cos it's cheap and easily replaceable doesn't mean it's disposable. Disposable has to mean degradable - and not in 50 years.
I like the fabric bags, but as I said I use the Asda lifetime bags mainly. I'm not sait at it - I often forget to take them out of the car ffs, LOL

I still haven't quite mastered remembering to take them out of the fecking car thoughAlthough when I forget them I just take the trolley to the car & bag up there...yes, even in the cold/rain, too.

That's a good idea- not dissimilar to one I've had. We have a couple of pay & display supermarket car parks nearby- so something on the ticket machines/ back of tickets would be good too. Even a scrolling message such as "printing ticket- don't forget your bags" too.
