Im quite looking forward to Armageddon just for the rest and peace and quiet.
If there ever was a world ending plague though I was hoping it would be slightly more gradual, so it gave me some time to kill a few of the people on my list personally.
I'd be quite happy going through it, but i'm wierd!

There was a similar drama on some years ago
...

The original series was very bleak. It was made in the 70s.
Things were different then. Labour were in power. They economy was stuffed. Government borrowing was at record levels. Unemployment was on the rise and the Chancellor promised to 'tax the rich until the pips squeak'. Different times ... err ...
The main characters in the new series have the same names as those in the old series. (Both series are based on Terry Nation's novel. Greg, last night's black guy in a Land Rover, was a white guy who arrived in a balloon from Norway.
Blimey... it seems you were paying attention last time around Suffolk-Cpl... it was bleak wasnt it?
both the original series and the seventies political climate.
Although we did have The Sweet & Mud, so it couldnt have been all that bad eh?
(I won't mention Gl*tter)
So... having payed such great attention last time around... do you bring a plan of action to the table in the post-pandemic thread?
I'm still on a bicycle heading for somewhere quiet but with good vantage... Im aremed now.. after a little low level looting and such. The nights are terifying now, so bloody dark now the power is out across the country... and quiet. So quiet.
I have seen people. Though tend to immediately head off of the road at the sound of approaching vehicles fearing the worst. And some of the roving bands Ive seen seem to justify that...
before long I hope, just perhaps, to come across a small settlement and appraoch to see how folk might be trying to organise themselves, though perhaps it is still early days for that. everyone will still be very edgy and ready to aggressively defend whatever thay have. I see no point in getting myself killed either at the hands of a raveging band of idiots... or a justifiably cautious group of people trying to keep themselves to themselves.

There is always a plan ;-)
First stop local barracks. Load up an 8 tonnie with weapons and ammo, water purification kits and hook up a genie on the back.
Next head out of town, somewhere semi remote, near woodlands with good soil. A farm should do it.
Next dump kit, set up defensive strong holds, then go back into towns and start to get food, fuel and tools.
Once the site can hold it's own for a short period of time, start scouting other areas looking for fit birds to recruit to my new world order, afterall, it will be our duty to start to repopulate the human race :-)
Haven't worked out what to do on day 2 yet.....
busy

I recall the original.
Id find a big gang and fight all the people who weren't in the gang I joined.
Especially if one of our gang said one of their gang had bigger weapons than us and more petrol.
I would like to express my thanks to Terry Nation for writing this I have always loved it and was overcome with joy when given a copy of the original full TV series for the winter festival a few years back.
