Yes, I know I'll get flamed.
And I know (speaking to mod) that you've had this before. But I really have to point out (as a new and still-hopeful member) that the first 2 pages of the Cafe at this moment contain 27 threads which are absolutely bugger-all to do with swinging or sex.
They are - irrefutably - the most popular threads. But guess what? They're nearly all started and populated by the same clique of smug chummy old cybermates, yammering on and on and on about eff-all.
Some of us don't spend our entire lives on here, LOL and ROTFL or LOAO all night at witty things we've seen on the net, or the laff we had when our kids said something cute. Some of us don't give a bugger about your suntan, or your holiday plans, or your job problems, or your car, or what you can see out of your bleedin window, or your motorbike or the last sodding concert you went to.
WE don't care how many clever GIFs you've got. We don't want to join in an opinion poll, or hear your views on BB evictions, or remember our favourite nursery rhyme.
And we sure as buggery don't want to waste half an hour clicking on links to find it's yet more pointless matey guff, when we're trying to learn something useful..... or even, get laid.
Some off-topic things are fine, I think (help with computer difficulties, as a for instance).... but all this personal chit-chat surely to God ought to be kept in the chatroom, or in PMs, or on that well-known website There are loads of sites that do this "fun" stuff.
I'm quite happy with the notion that fun and sex go together. But there's only one of 'em I can go without.
Some of us just like to plug in and read about swinging and sex. Do you remember sex? YOU used to do it, before you had computers, when you got out more?
This is by no means a blanket condemnation.... it is a great and wonderful and generous notion, SH. A credit to the inventors, and I'm glad I came. But all this waffle could kill it (just check out some old MSN groups you used to know..... all long gone, and precisely because they got buried under unintelligent self-indulgent "fun 'n frolics" rubbish).

If you want to talk about sex then start an interesting, topical and sexual thread - why rely on others to do it?? I began one the other night and it got to three pages PDQ, why can't you?
We are a community, not random selection of people, and we have lots and lots of things in common, not just sex. Now, move on and get a thread going that isn't a whine, a whinge or a complaint.

before you posted the thread did you not look at the definition of the cafe
the cafe is for other discussions apart from sexual topics
there are two other sections to tout for sex
maybe some people like to get to know people before they start shagging them
this site is a community
people are allowed to talk about other things than sex is assume

After all the rest of the site is all about sex, but this is the bit of it that isn't just about sex, as per its definition: "General discussion and chit-chat. Post anything here that is NOT a Meet Up or about Dogging. Use the sections below for those."
Note not General SEX discussion and SEX chit chat... It not killed the site yet, in fact for the socialites like me it IS the site... Sorry but if you want to read only about sex it will get very boring, very quickly. I think most members would rather do it than read about it.
The main strength is you can talk about sex and sex acts here, where as in most boards you cant...

Personally I find it extremely rude to wander into a place and start telling people what they can and can't talk about. The site suits people at all levels ... from those who are into the "wanna shag?" mode to those who like to get to know people first before getting down to pleasure.
How can 10 days on a site make you the expert of us all ???? Perhaps if you stop stamping your feet long wnough then a lightbulb might ping and the sense of ... this is the largest free swinging website in the UK, it is the friendliest and probably the most diverse .... and yet you think otherwise
I'm with Jags, if the topic of conversation bores you so much then start a conversation yourself or sod off!

Isn't SH a Swingers Community? It is a place for people who are open minded to come and meet new people?
Fair enough, there is a lot of personal stuff that does not have anything to do with swinging, but they do give you an insight into some of the people, their likes and dislikes, their preferences wink

if you dont like listening to people who know eachother waffling on about their personal lives or other things not related to sex, don't open the thread? It's like Mary Whitehouse watching all that porn then complaining about it. Turn the bloody thing off then!! confused

There does seem to be a bit of an old boys network, which differs depending if you are in the chat room and the forum and people do seem to know eachother pretty well but some of them have never even met eachother. They get to know eachother by communicating either in here or in the chat room and get to know and like eachother.
Surely it is human nature if those that know eachother well speak to eachother on here? rolleyes

At the end of the day, most of the people I have "met" in here have been more than interested in meeting people with sex in mind.
If it is just hooking up for sex that you have in mind, surely the "lets meet up" forum has everything you need?
However, I did post a thread on foot fetishes the other day which only got 4 replies (I was sooooo dissapointed) :P so yes it does take a while for you to get into the "gang" but it is fun sticking around anyway. :twisted:

i think you'll find that a lot of people have fun at the yorkshire munch on saturday... and a lot of people will have fun at the sparkle meet on saturday.....and so on and so on,
so to suggest that all the people who chatter "gibberish" don't meet is so far off the mark that you probably don't realise how funny it is.....
so i take it you won't be wanting to come to one of the munches or parties then......

I have not met them all, I am known to them and them to me by our posts. Stick around and soon you to will be accused of being in the "same clique of smug chummy old cybermates" because if you take the time to get to know people you make friends... isn't that the point?

well im one of these new ppl ur talking about only been here a few weeks , but frankly im glad it isnt all about sex and such as that would have put me and crystal off

Yes it is because your are pissing off the very community you want to join... interesting tactic... Thought people were being quite reserved really and maybe the speed of the responses and the detail would give you a hint about how deeply people disagree with your point...

I've only been getting to know people the last 6 weeks or so and I am glad all the talk isn't sex. I have found in my time in the chatroom and the cafe that people on here are normal everyday people and not the sexaholics who would shag anyone, that I thought they would be (ok, we are all sexaholics, but you know what I mean!!!!)
