Swinging is a bit like...

What other recreational activity would you compare swinging to?
Of the sporty ones, I would think it compares more to golf than something like squash or badminton. My reasons being…
A good play will keep you occupied for several hours, rather than a frantic 30 minutes or so.
If you do only have an hour free, you could always go for a quick ‘pitch n putt’ or practice your swing at the driving range.
You can go off to your favourite club alone and usually find others to play with if your regular partners are not available.
You don’t need an equal number of players for you all to be able to play at once, 3somes are quite common.
You don’t need to have any specialised clothing to play, but if you do it is your choice if you wear it or not.
The majority like to keep the ‘water’ bit out of the sport.
Sometimes you end-up with a bit of rough.
There is a time and a place for woods to be involved.
Who the hell is going to complain at having 9/18 well maintained holes to sink their balls into?

What about rugby? Get to see plenty of man thigh, any excuse for a good 'scrum' , plenty of scoring and if they're no good, you can kick em into touch :giggle: Not forgetting the shared bath or shower afterwards

Is that because you're hoping you'll click, but you don't always get a bang? confused
Jeez that's spooky. I was likening it to golf in me mind on the weekend. I couldn't figure out how the handicap system works though....? dunno
For the golf anoraks - matchplay is a one-on-one and strokeplay ( yeah, yeah I know! rolleyes ) is a group session.
