T-Mobile announced that it's changing it's FUP (Fair Usage Policy) for Data (see If you were on most smartphone contracts it used to be 3Gb, it's now been reduced to 500mb. This is obviously a big concern for a fair few users that use more that 500mb a month (me for example).
Which seem to think it's breaking your contract terms, so keep an eye on and cancel/get discount if you can smile
For those interested,
Cancelation template -
Ofcom number to complain to
and Twitter hastag -
Which and Ofcom both say that you should be able to get out of your current contract with no penalties, also lots of people have not even been notified of this change yet, and T-Mobile have to give at least 30 days notice.
Might be worth getting out and finding a better contract if you can.
EDIT - Seems T-Mobile have backed down under pressure from the customer,
i got out of an 02 contract years ago when they changed there policy regarding a certain number (cant remember of the top of my head) and ended it 12 months early without penalty. the 500mb allowance seems to be the industry standard now but with the newer phones IE iphone and ntc you can go over that allowance within a week so it dont give you much room for manoeuvre.
T- mobile have issued a statement saying that this will not affect customers on existing contracts, the new limit will only affect those people taking out a new contract with them.
