Well now that that flippin recession has hit good n proper (I refuse to call it a feckin Credit Crunch - sounds like exercise for your wallet!) we've kinda stopped doing take-away in favour of being all coupley and cooking it ourselves - which is a surprisingly fun thing to do!
We've got some damn good recipes from that there "tinterweb" and so far we've nailed sweet n sour, egg fried rice, singapore noodles (and also by default singapore fried rice) and chicken egg foo yung. Next on the list is crispy shredded chilli beef, kung po chicken, chow mein and szechuan.
Curry's are easy lol.
We're soooo skint!

Ooooo...*salivates* if you get the crispy shredded chilli beef sorted- can I come? :bounce:

we've had a go at some Thai dishes - surprisingly straightforward. I have a fab book covereing Chinese, Indian, Thai and even Vietnamese. Just a few of each but good fun.
I rarely get takeaway, but when I do it's either fried chicken and chips, egg fried rice, beef curry, a kebab or good old fish and chips.
Seems like the majority of folk are creatures of habit aren't they? wink
That actually does surprise me.
I eat everything and anything biggrin :D :D
takeaways ..love em :D :D
.....
Depends on what takeaway we are havin! Chinese we usually tend to have a set meal as there are us 2, plus our 2 children. Works out a lot more expensive if we all had separate dishes. Fish and chips varies as we sometimes have fish or pie or battered sausage.
Kfc is usally a bucket of some kind as you get a bit of everything and everyone happy smile
if i go to a Chinese buffet i will explore and try new things.. the only down side to that i never remeber to look at the names of what i have tried. so when i decide to have a Take away. i'm looking up and down the menu and trying to match the name with what i think it was i had the other night.... then after 5 mins i think sod it and go for the same as i did last time "sweet & sour Chicken, Yung Chow rice and BBQ sauce.
If i'm ordering Pizza or a Curry then do normally try something different.
Chinese - is always Chicken Foo Yung.
Indian - Chicken madras, Dopiaza or Rogan Josh, but last night I tried Pan fried chicken kebab with salad and chilli sauce, served in a plain naan bread....Yummmmmmmmmy. biggrin

I don't think it does surprise me... at least ya know for the most part, you are going to enjoy what you are eating... hence same chinese take and same thing from it. smile (see... different foods from different places, even though they are the same style resturant... I've it up a notch)
I couldn't think of anything worse that experimenting after you have waited all that time for them to deliver it, only to find ya didn't like it! I'd feel really bad, then go back to something tried and trusted... lol
mmmmmmmmmmm fish and chips -always the same:-
skate
chips
roe
butterd roll ( for chip butty!)
lol
just ordered mine in.. and gone for a change!
well............ i've had BBQ sauce with my Chow mein instead of Sweet and Sour!
