In my day too, but it's now a whiteboard. Political correctness you see. Schhhh.

Nope, it's not a whiteboard either. It's either a chalkboard or a write on/wipe off board rolleyes
What`s an "interactive whiteboard" then ??
Normally a specialised computer and projector system.

I'll have the jaffa cakes then and the hobnobs for you, although I nearly died on a hobnob during nbc training, so do be careful.

Blimey Venus, how did you get a hobnob through your gas mask in Nuclear Biological Chemical training?

Venus said she "nearly died on a Hobnob" - perhaps the government has a directive that in the event of nuclear war being declared, standing on a Hobnob gives one the best chance of survival? dunno
Perhaps there's a minister somewhere with a nuclear bunker & shares in Hobnobs? Scandalous!
Post count: 339 two weeks in; it's my shag count that's really goes up in the hols!

Most of the cockroaches I've interviewed on this matter would seem to concur with that assessment WW. :inlove:

I am assuming this is slightly tongue in cheek, but just in case thought I would point out that the reason they are now called white boards and not black boards is that they used to be black, they are now white!
Not many schools use black boards because they are not the best option for demonstrations; you are extremely limited by colours, they are not clear from distances and so on. On the other hand a white board is used with marker pens, much clearer and brighter, easier for kids to read, easier for teachers to write and so on.
It is just a coincidence that one happened to be black and the other white, nothing sinister in it.

Well in my experience they ARE called white boards.

Perhaps it may have been better to write that it was in YOUR experience then rolleyes

How does changing from a black board because a blackboard as a teaching tool is not the ideal become political correctness?
You asked why we don’t have blackboards, there were phased out because they have been replaced with things that are better for the teaching and learning experience, for no other reason. How is that political correctness?

Ah I see, anything that is in my personal experience has to be justified as so, but other people can state fact?
Right Steve, thanks for making that clear, you advice is invaluable

It has become apparent that some of the forumites are on hols from their normal jobs for a long 6 to 8 weeks.
So if you are one of these people, please report in your post count current total, and then early September we can see who has had nothing else better to do with their time!!!
We could also do a list of jobs that these people could do.
1. Sort out the junk kitchen draw
2. Clean the oven
3. Hoover out the car
4.
lol

Sneaking in a bit late on this one but :wave2: I'm off until September, already had 3 weeks off and I am soooooooo bored and no sex until September either surpriseduch:
Unfortunately I'm also banned from oing any lifting or housework as well :thrilled:

lol you ppl are funny. During the training you had to momentarily take your mask off and eat a bit of biscuit and then say your name and number. Then they let you out to make like a windmill. I eyeballed the biggest piece of hobnob (having a greedy nature wink ) and tried to eat it, but a bit tickled the back of my throat and make me cough a little. I had to hold the cough back, say my name and make quick my escape, so... I nearly died on a hobnob lol
Oooohhh....I may have to spank anyone on this posting for suggesting we get 6 weeks 'off'!!! But hey...it has given me the time to join this site and have lots of laughs at so many very funny postings!!!!
As for the boards...it is now an 'Interactive Whiteboard.' Only pens used on it are special ones that are touch screen.....although I have screwed up and written on the huge computer screen with normal board pens (oooops!).
