No one ........?
check your drivers are ok thats the first port of call. click start>>>my computer>>>>then view system information.
when a box appears click the hardware tab then device manager....see if there are any question marks in a yellow circle.
Were they after market drives or did they come with the PC?
That didn't work ....
Debz, what version of windows are you using?
If Windows XP are you using the CD writing facility within windows XP or are you using a third party application?
what ? third party application ?

Virus checking software? Sometimes, some applications will prevent copying if a virus is present to stop propagation.

No problem at all debz. What I meant by third party application was another piece of software to write the CD's. It sounds like you are just using the standard windows xp writing function.
Could you check the following for me:

Open My Computer.
Right-click your CD-R drive and select Properties.
Select the Recording tab.
You can then choose to:
Whether to enable CD recording
The drive to hold the staging files (before the system burns a CD-R disc, the system writes the files to be recorded to an intermediary area known as the staging area—this area must have enough free space to hold an entire CD's content)
The CD recording speed (Fastest, 4X, 2X, and 1X)
Whether to eject the media after recording
Set your options and click OK.
Do you see any of that at all?
Ok got all that and its all ticked the message i get is still the same
cannot compleat the cd writing wizard error in the writting process somthing about the disk but i lowerd the speed and its a brand new disk and its still the same message
OK, one more thing to try.
Click Start, click Run, type /s in the Open box, and then click OK.
Double-click IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service.
Under Service Status, click Start.
Try to write data to a CD.
Hope that helps smile
 no windows can't find it i made sure i spelt it twice in case i was wrong but nowt
ops hang on i copyed and pasted it think something happnin lol
Ok done that ...........  nope still wont write
Still coming up with the same error?
You could take a look at this Microsoft to see if it can shed any further light smile
Are you sure it isn't simply a duff disk? Have you got another to try?
