how can i burn mp4 movies as vista doesn`t support this format?
theres not many dvd players out the there that support mp4 format
mp4 format is more for phones, ipods and nintendo ds
then instead you would need a converter to mp4 for the above formats
you can burn mp4 on dvd as an iso or udf iso but mostley only a computer will play them
burning movies you would be making either dvd mp2 mostley used ,dvd divx or xvid both are the favourates to use for most dvd players

Not quite correct.
Pretty much every blu ray player with handle mp4 as the codec is part of the whole HD 'package' put together by the Moving Picture Experts Group (or MPEG as they're known) who decide the standards for compression and delivery systems worldwide.
If you want to play it on a pc, you need to install either Videolan

or Apple Quicktime

Apple have bought into Mp4 in a big, big way and helped develop the codecs in the mpeg4 group, in particular the codec which is used extensivly for high definition web video as it can be encapsulated very easily into Flash.
Quicktime should give you the better playback results but i always install them both as Videolan is a fantastic player that seems to like almost everything i throw at it.
Quick Time gets our vote for MP4 but failing that take a look here:-
thanks guys will try these ideas
Better off just buying a dvd player that supports mp4/divx, preferably one with a usb slot so you can play them from a pen drive as well as from disc, you can get them for around £17 for a standard one or £23 for HDMI with upscaling from ebuyer
Alternatively convertXtoDVD is a good program for converting mp4 to dvd, as for codecs ffdshow is free and one of the best.
