help
ive had to get a new power lead for my laptop
and i dont know which voltage setting to put it on laptop is a hp one
the voltage dial goes from 14v to24 v
many thanks

It depends on which HP model you have...
The HP laptops are usual 19v output, the HP (compaq) ones are 18v output.
If you look on the bavk of the old lead/transformer the input/output range is stated there.

Is the above possible on an iphone?

i have an acer m900 loads of gadgetry things on it including windows mobile and windows office mobile including word/excel/power-point. has a 5 meg cam but not that good in darker environments, it uses flash lite so cannt access chat but can all other areas of sites including msn. it is a touch screen that is not like a lot i have seen and use finger pad, this 1 uses a stylus. the best bit i like is the fingerprint recognition as an unlock device so making it ultra secure (if you lose your finger you also set up a password lol)

choose this option if already connected before through ethernet cable also aids if you need to use both connections
Connecting an additional computer
If you want to connect an additional computer to the Home Hub wirelessly:
1. Unplug any existing modem connections
2. Make sure that you that have a wireless adapter installed or that your built-in wireless is switched on
3. Insert the BT Total Broadband CD into your computer and follow the on-screen instructions
Setting up a wireless connection manually
We recommend that you use the BT Total Broadband CD to set up your computer's wireless connection to the Hub. However, in the unlikely event that the CD doesn't recognise your wireless adapter, or you want to connect a device that hasn't a CD drive (e.g. PDA, games console), follow the steps below to connect.
Before you start:
1. Check that the BT Home Hub is switched on
2. Place your computer close to the Home Hub so you are getting a good signal during setup
3. Unplug any USB or Ethernet cable currently connecting your computer to the Home Hub
4. Make sure that you that have a wireless adapter installed or that your built-in wireless is switched on
5. Read your Home Hub's SSID and wireless key from the label on the back. It will be useful to write these numbers down.
How to find the SSID and wireless key

It may be that Java is not installed, or not working. You can check that . If you need Java you can get it .
If it's not that and you're still having problems open a support ticket.

Hello ther Oh Knowledgable ones, a question if I may:
Key Ports.
One of our members is having trouble (a great deal) getting computor to go online and load image/pages to load in a full and workable manner...if at all.
Has been told by provider that it something to do with DNS and KEYPORTS>
DNS has been cleaned, aparently.
But between us we cannot get the fixes for keyports to work.
(Is this always related to MSN too? many mentions of keyports when searching seem to refer to MSN)
any help please?

thank you in advance

if you have it in your own files, you can use
you don't even have to join.
it offers you the option of sizes (avatar etc) and you then (after uploading) copy and paste the 'code' it offers into the signature section of Settings.
i think

did it work then?

I stumbled upon this today, and it made me chuckle. lol
"We are living in a geek's paradise. We are so spoiled by our gadgets and the Internet that we expect everything to be automated, digitized, and customized, not to mention responsive to the swipe of a finger.
Technology has rewired our brains, altered our expectations, and, frankly, turned us all into cranks.
How do you know if this has happened to you? Look for the following 21 warning signs.

Maybe there are a few more that SH members can add? dunno

I don't suffer from a lot of theses thank goodness. But in a hire care recently, I swiped my finger over a button on the dash expecting to get a tool-tip saying what it was for. <<geek-dom awaits!!>>

Helloooooooooooooo all technies x
Im trying to upload some pics from my pc..... and keep getting a fake path destination, and it wont upload.....
ANY TIPS? Ive searched t'interet but its all nonsense to ickle me!!
Don't worry about the fakepath part. I have just uploaded two photos and it mentions fakepath in the path name for the individual photos.
You need to make sure your images are in the Jpeg format.
Just click the choose button then point to your photo and then the upload button......
May take a few minutes depending on your connection speed.
Your pictures may also be too large to upload.
If your camera is set to best resolution the resulting images can be too big for certain sites to upload. I know that popular auction site that we all use automatically resizes photos when you are uploading them to your ads but am not sure if this site does or not.

Thanks for your suggestions x x Works on some pics, but not the ones i want to upload....
Alas, I will struggle on - or use this as an excuse to take more!!! lol

You could try resizing them before you upload them using Image Tuner
It's Freeware, I've used it and others have had success with it too.

I can't get my fridge to stop icing up at the back. It's supposed to be 'frost-free' but the little hole at the back gets blocked with ice and then it builds up into a mini-glacier at the back.
