Hi smile ..
Quick question missy...what screen res are you runnin as you should not need to scroll left and right....if you have a 17" screen you should be on 1024*768...normally....this would stop the need to scroll left and right or it should....
Sadly sponsored links are the norm now on google....they come up on the right hand side normally tho....
I see you use Internet explorer.....I do keep harping on about Firefox on this thread but it is far better :)
Also if you do use Firefox there are several free extensions you can get for it (well there's loads actually) and if you are determined to bomb the adds you can get one called "adblock"...am goin to try this on mine tomorrow :) no time now am cooking dinner :)...
Cheers Gary xxx

Truth is anything is better than Internet Explorer. I used to have all sorts of problems with it, and still do as a web designer, but I find the web experience from most of the other browsers, including Firefox, much better.

Having a prob with dropping connection every time the phone rings ,have put all new filters on and have it going from the phone line to PC any ideas please

Hi smile ..
Was this workin originally? Have you changed anything recently or started using a phone extension or something? You need to remove everything and just plug one filter and the pc in...and try to narrow down the prob....if you are sure all your kit is workin then maybe the fault is at the exchange and could be your isps responsability....very hard to fix via this forum and not hands on so to speak....Hope you sort it soon...
been like this from day one did every thing wot ya said above and they sent out a new box and was still the same
tks for the help

Awwww, Winchy redface Sorry! How embarrassing... I took mine to the IT dudes at work and it was fine!?! Dunno whether it was just being temperamental with me, cos everything appeared ok, looked at the device manager thingies like Gary suggested... I was sooooo embarrased!! lol
Hope it gets fixed. xxxx

Eating a Fab lolly- why? dunno
Seriously, it was working last night when I was, erm, here. Then I remember muting it when I was playing poker.
Just un-muted it and nothing- nada-zilch confused
Yup, I've checked the mixer, but not seen if it works through headphones yet- will give it a go, TY.
Nola- don't panic, the crabs you gave me were much worse lol

Hi smile...
Yes absolutely all you need is a little usb wireless reciever for your pc....we have a cable modem and router not physically connected to any pc.....its in a cupboard out the way.....only time i ever physically connect it is to alter the settings on the router.....dont forget to get your security on the router.....dont let all your neighbours use it :)....

Gary's pc tips number 1....
First in a series of tips blatantly borrowed from someone far more clever than me.....
Today windows XP....
Eliminate animations
Ending useless animations in Windows will improve performance. Right-click the desktop, choose Properties, and then the Appearance tab. Click the Effects button and make sure everything is unchecked in the next window.
The mouse tell me when the batteries stop working i get a big sign up on the screen but never had anything with the keyboard so i wasnt thinking batteries (plus had the keyboard a year and its the first time ever ive put batteries in) the mouse ones only last 2 - 3 weeks redface surprisedops:
Gary's pc tips number 2.....
Today Windows Vista.....
Disabling Automatic Startup Programs
If you don't want certain programs or applications to run automatically on startup, there's an easy way to disable them.
* Click Start
* Type msconfig in the search box
* Click Continue in the User Account Control to continue
* Click on the Startup Tab
* Uncheck any boxes in the "Startup Items" that you wish to disable or click the Disable All button (not recommended)
* Click OK
If you need to re-enable any of the programs, go through the same process and check the boxes of programs you wish to run automatically on startup
Am still figuring out Windows Vista like most people smile but thought this might be useful to someone :)
Cheers Gary xxx
re the above post ...
Make sure you know what the programs are before disabling them of course confused

Hi smile.... goes without sayin .... but if you knew what you were trying to close down its usually self apparent ... if you scroll along the line you can see which directory the files are in and work it out from that ... personally I always look in task manager first to work out what to shut down .... moral is tho don't touch it if you don't know what it is ....
Cheers Gary xxx
thought id give this a nudge incase anyone has any questions for gary.....keep him busy while im at work biggrin
