I could easily do without a TV ... laptop though is another matter.
Mr Fun and the kids on the other hand .... not a chance!!
I could do without TV for a day maybe two but in the end no matter the drivel that is 90% of it there is always some great stuff on somewhere. I think most of us underrate the importance the "box" plays in our lives.
Give it up?.......No chance!
On some holidays we've stayed in places with no TV at all. It was fine. I could do without it - but I do enjoy having easy access to some great natural history and science programmes as well as some fantastic dramas. But since most of my film watching is from DVD I dare say I would simply switch to DVD boxed sets of David Attenborough etc.
My main gripe is that I pay for Sky to get certain programmes but I have to wade through a sea of utter crap to get to what I want.
We should be able to pay for only those channels we actually want. Claiming the market-stall-tat-jewlelry channel or other such shite is 'free' is a lie - since no-one could have that alone for free. They have to pay money before they get them - hence NOT free.
Can you imagine buying your food at Sainsbury's and getting home to find you have an extra 5 bags of rotting meat, mouldy bread and empty wrappers? And not being able to leave them at the shop even if you don't want them. Same thing.
I reckon I would pay for about 10 channels at most. I'd rather not have to click through the rest to get to them. Favourites are just a way of filtering out crap I don't want and didn't ask for in the first place.

(sorry - been a long day)
I could easily do without tv, I only watch Discovery channel, History channel etc and some news. Never look at terrestrial channels
I like my TV to be like the books I read. factual.
I don`t even own a tv, my kids have them in their rooms but I don`t have one and don`t miss it either.
I watch iplayer if anything catches my eye, or sky player for movies now and again but other than that I`m not bothered.
I listent to people at work going on about Eastenders or Corrie like its real, and all those reality programmes are just pish.
Much better off without one in my opinion.
i dont watch a lot of tv and am very selective about what i do watch which is mostly football and F1 racing, music events and some news programes plus some thriller type series which i love, however the latter could be watched on iplayer or similar so i supose i could do without tv but i would miss sport alot
Wouldnt miss television at all cannot get cricket because I havent got Sky and rugby union isnt shown all that often.
I watch a lot of the "Belasaris" productions on Ch5 - Law and Order (vars) , CSI (vars, but not Miami) and NCIS.
