Texting may have its disadvantages but look at some of the kids on the street, some of these kids have no communication skills apart from texting, some of these kids dont care about school and have really bad english skills, at least with texting and *text speak* these people can communicate with each other, without texts they might not be able to

On the way to the Bristol munch on the bus the kids behind us were texting each other on the bus and thinking it was funny. Perhaps in a few years time the what do you find funny thread will read "ohh I remember when I was 12 we texted each other on a bus"
FFS go set fire to skips

Is there anyone that can't be bothered with texting or those that feel it too intrusive into your everyday lives?

I dont own a mobile phone. I can see the point of them and the advantages but i would rid the world of them if i could.

I couldn't possibly tell you what's on my phone!
redface

Maybe best that you don't!
Stop it Frecklebird poke don't discourage Sassy...Sassy come on you know you want to...just tell us a little....snippet......c'mon gal
I couldn't....really!
Mar stands up and says..... "Hello my name is .. and I am a textaholic!" lol
Seriously I am - I'm on one of those deals at the minute which allows me the freedom of 750 texts and a little for talking.. fab!
I use mine like you Pink, morning greetings, sexy texts and the odd "what time you in" type of zzzzz ones!
Unfortunately, we have had the odd row over text as like email texts can be misconstrued.
Nice to see you back Pink hun kiss
I text a lot. I text to stay in touch with friends and family but also for sex related fun too.
I am a fan of picture messages, especially when they are unexpected. They don't have to be that rude either. Last Thursday a sexy traffic cop texted me a picture of her posing on her police motorbike in her leathers.

You have my number wink
i don't tend to text a lot unless i'm out, trying to keep tabs on where everyone is and whether they are going to make it. (this can't eb done by ringing musics always too loud).
otherwise if i iam within my allowance i tend to give them a quick ring, otherwise i use my no that way i can talk a lot more if i need to.
It all depends where i am what i'm doing etc.
i do have a webcam but thats mainly just for me to keep up with friends and family who live abroad, as my parents have emigrated now to spain, and my sisters on about going off to New Zealand think it will get even more use.
Oh well thats my 2 cents - probably more like a couple of quid (using my mobile)

I've recently moved from a contract to pay-as-you-go so I can't afford to text!
i like the odd horny text from people i know but I hate getting into texting conversations. I especially hate "Hi how are you" texts. Just a waste of time really.
Due to finances, my texts are now limited to the specific and necessary. sad

try an o2 genie sim, u get free texts with them when u top up at least £10 a mth, i save loadsssssss xj
I love texting and I really love receiving unexpected ones. But, I'm really rubbish at it. For some reason I tend to be all formal in them and I can't abide text talk so I generally end up replying to a simple question with a load of waffle which includes full stops, capital letters etc, I even check my spelling and I'm a rubbish speller! I do find them frustrating at times though because I can't always tell whats meant by them - I once ended up having a text argument because I didn't like the 'tone' of text redface
I do love sending on jokes though, especially ones that really make me giggle

Nothing wrong with that at all.
I forgot! Munch-day texts are brilliant!! :lol2:
i dont care much for those chain-message texts though - 'send this to 10 friends including me and you'll have good luck' like, how much fookin credit do u think I've got?? lol

I usually say "how many fookin friends do you think I've got" rolleyes

I hate those as well - it's not so much the credit but more why??? Why would the sending the same message ten times to ten different people give me luck???????My sister and a couple of our friends love them so I generally get three within minutes of each other and delete the lot
I love to receive unexpected, sexy texts. It's just that I never do!!!
I've always found I waffle too much so texts just take me soooo long to prepare. Plus I've got fat thumbs!!! redface
My ex always seemed to want to discuss & resolve our marital problems by text!!! confused
Hours of Marriage Guidance Counselling yet she wanted to solve everything in 450 characters!!!??? rolleyes

I'd forgotten that as well. The way it builds up the anticipation of seeing old friends again is great.
Last time was even better though as we were handholding (why do I not like that word? :undecided: ) another couple. The excitement of meeting someone new and feeling the excitement on the other end of the text was a real buzz - especially as it was the lovely originator of this thread kiss .

Awwww Choon thanks  .... and then meeting you and Angelica by the vending machine finally after saying "Hello" and smiling inanely at the guy before you thinking he was you!!! redface
pink x
p.s. I hate text speak, I type in full (using predictive text) and when Blue texts me in that lingo (as he does with one of his playmate)I tell him off. :boxing:
well normally my texts are purely practical
on my way..
what time you home?
what time you coming round etc..
(emails now thats another matter  )
but after reading this thread the other night i thought i would send a few saucier texts..well i have to say it was very very interesting :rascal:
i am lucky if i get any texts, i suppose i dont give my number out to that many people, i prefer chating on a instant messaging service
