As a pick-me-up today I thought it would be nice to share some good times, so what's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for you?
Mine.....
I loved Christmas, it was by far my favourite time of year. All the decorations would be up and gifts would be bought and wrapped and Christmas day would be the one day of the year I would cook a roast meal at lunch time. One year on Christmas Eve I started feeling a little ill, by Christmas Day I was in a terrible state - no details but suffice to say it wasn't pleasant, food poisoning they said. I was not happy, I'd missed Christmas.
My birthday is in February, my partner had told me I wasn't allowed in the front room and every now and then I would be ushered into the kitchen and told not to come out till I was told. We'd been talking about getting a new kitchen so I thought he might be having stuff delivered and hidding it in the front room to surprise me. The morning of my birthady he let me in there and he'd made me Christmas for my birthday! He'd got all the decorations down from the attic and put everything up in the one room. The delivery hadn't been the cooker that I'd imagined, it was a full size football table - a game I'd gone mad about when we were on holiday the year before. He'd bought everything needed for Christmas dinner including crackers.
I had a wonderfull day, it was by far the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me.

That's so so lovely.

(I'll think about my answer and post later.)
Oh H that is sooooo lovely!!!!
I am fully aware that this is going to sound corny, twee and all the other words like those, but the nicest thing that anyone ever did for me was when Stormy decided to share his life with me! He does'nt do the little surprises thing very often and he does'nt declare undying love every day but it isn't needed.
Sorry slush attack! I'll get me coat bolt
I threw Mrs Lava her first ever birthday party when she was 22!! She'd never had one as a child and I loved the ones I had so much I just had to do it. I enlisted the help of her little sister as design consultant (she was 6 at the time biggrin ) and it was a blast.
We had proper kids party food right down to the Wotsits and Flumps, sarnies, crisps, cherryade and slightly minging Birthday Cake (Pink Pig shape). We had balloons up, banners, party bags and played musical statues and pass the parcel.
We still have a laugh about it now. I like the fact that these things don't have to cost the earth, it just has to be something that you've really thought about.

You mean I had a choice !
H-x - thats lovely. Thoughtful gestures are so meaningful.
Take note Dave_Notts - where are my bloody flowers cos I am unwell???? Although I am that grumpy and miserable today, I don't think nothing would work confused
A Hopeful Alex
Perhaps not the nicest thing but certainly one of them was when I was on the phone to my friend and I was yet again apologising for my eccentric behaviour, and she said "I've read some books on Aspergers, so don't worry I understand." If only she knew what that meant to me.
I like to see the little things done, like when my son does the washing up after dinner without having to be asked and takes the bins out before he goes to school.
One of the nicest presents I've ever had was from my best mate for my birthday in June. He'd bought a print of one of my fave pictures, mounted and framed it without me knowing and gave it to me a couple of weeks before my birthday as he said he couldn't wait until then. It's got pride of place on my sitting room wall :inlove:
