the cinema a dilema !

I want to go to the cinema to watch
“Happy feet” rolleyes

and
“eragorn” cool

but I have a problem
1/ Happy feet is a kid’s film and I have no kid’s
2/I think going to the cinema on my own will make me look like a sad old man !(dose anyone else feel like this?) redface

so! What do I do ?
wait for them to come out on DVD ? confused

borrow someone’s kid’s ? :?
try and find some nice lady to come to watch them with me? smile

My eldest is a huge fan of Eragon the novel- and was desperate to see the film. However, it's been utterly slated all round. Happy feet looks to have some grown up humour- go for it- who gives a feck what people think?
Just dont wear a dirty mac. rolleyes

Lots of people go by themselves Sercher. I have done it and once you sit down its fine. Did put a thread up once in LMU for someone to go to pics with me and they did so you could try that?
We went to see Pans Labyrinth the other night and it was a brilliant film to go and see.
Have courage that you are not the man in the dirty raincoat and try it. First time always the hardest wink

I have tickets booked to see Eragon on Saturday night... think we may go and see happy feet too though, well the pm and am showings aren't exactly going to be overrun with kids are they? lol

I was the oldest child free person in the cinema when I went to see Babe when it first came out and people really don't give you a second look. If you want to see it go for it... but no chucking popcorn at the little kids though wink

I regularly go to the cinema on my own......this is because:-
1- I find it difficult to find people who like the films that I want to see...( I was going to say appreciate instead of like but that sounds pretentious and arrogant, and my stalker is watching)
2.- I loathe it when people talk throughout the film. So unless I know from watching films with them at home that they don't do this, I won't go with them.
3.- I like being by myself.
4.- I can people watch all by myself.
anyhoo.... no-one takes any notice of you. it is cool... cool

i tend not to listen to the reviews and make my own mind up
as for the going alone, i probably wouldnt tbh but plenty of blokes do

I would say - Go on your own !!!!
Sadly i cant do the pictures (dodgy ears lol) So a few years ago i would have probably have said the same as you (dare I ?) Now, because i cant go, omg i would go on my own everyday biggrin

I've been to the cinema on my own a few times ( yes, sad and lonely I know redface

) but there are advantages.
1. you get to see the film YOU want to see
2. you can eat as much as you like without anyone tutting
3. all the popcorn is yours
4. it's bloody cheaper than taking kids

Both films look ace ( so does the Nativity Story and very seasonal ) so have a great time wink

Nothing wrong with going to the cinema on your own.....i do it every now again....like the sunday mornings.....usually get the cinema to yourself.....so know annoying people near you!

Nowt wrong with going to the cinema on your own, even if it is for a kids film :lol2: You can borrow our kids though if you are really stuck innocent
