Did anyone watch this C4 show last night? If so, what did you think of it?
As a piece of drama I thought it was well written, very well acted and overall a unique and interesting yet controversial topic. That said, despite what Gary Glitter has done ( which I'm in NO way condoning! ) I thought it was in extremely bad taste to use the case of a person who's still in the public eye and serving his time. Personally I think it would have been better to use a fictional character instead of one who's still very much alive!
I avoided it too...
maybe if it was a different subject I would not have even given it a second thought.
But as it was him the thought of it sickened me to the pit of my stomach... so yes I agree with Kaznkev

What.........It wasn't real
I was most upset that Derek Akhora didnt feature doing a post mortem interview. Ah well you cant have everything.
I thought it was a true story confused :? I must keep up with the times lol
I didn't watch it in the end - went to bed very early instead smile
I just ask you to remember what he has done Sassy.
He deserves nothing at all, and if I had my way he would have done the " Saddam swing ".

As I said Kenty - I in no way condone what he has done and what he's serving his time for. I was just outlining the decision to base the drama around someone who's still alive.
I didn't watch it through choice, was on the family tv when I got to work last night and couldn't exactly ask them to turn it off confused
I knew it looked too good to be true, and sure enough the message was anti capital punishment. I would hang Paul Gadd, Ian Huntly, Peter Sutcliff et al without a seconds hesitation. Indeed if there was nobody else to apply the noose and pull the lever I'd do it myself for free. Evil bastards that prey on women and children in particular deserve to die with no dignity whatsoever. They are not human but to call them animals is an insult to animals.
I have tried to imagine how I would feel and what I would do if anything happened to one or any of my kids, but I can't get my head round it. If someone did something to them I would want do deal with them myself, death by a thousand cuts or something like that. Perhaps something like the torture dished out in the Saw movies would be a better punishment than hanging.
The hanging scene in last nights drama wasn't realistic, it was made to look less humane by showing him drop with a shorter rope than they used to use, and of course the silence as it no bobbed up and down as if he was taking a while to die. That would unfortunately put some people off the idea of bringing back the death penalty. What I expect from C4 I suppose!

Not forgetting Tracey Connelly Steven Barker and Jason Owen. I'd have fun with them, Seriously mad
What about Simon Cowell? now there's someone I WOULD hang

You should have tripped the main fuse box, which would have turned the telly off.
Then find the problem and turn it back on, and then say..." can I watch so and so on the telly".
They would have been so happy to have the power back on they would have let you watch anything. wink
