I was fortunate enough to have seen Freddie and Noddy live. Both were brilliant frontmen, but if I had to pick just one, it would be Freddie. I was at Queen's last ever show at Knebworth in 1986. Not only did he have the voice, but he had the crowd of over 200,000 in the palm of his hand from the moment he walked on stage.

Although 'showman' can mean a larger than life personality, or it can mean consumate professional who gives a consumate show.
Mercury was very very good, but I think he was helped by a fabulous band too.
I once saw Robert Plant as a guest star take a stage by storm...

Not just the voice, not just the songs, but as previously said, he could hold every member of the stadium crowd in his hand.

The greatest showman for us would have to be Freddie aswell... Hubby has most of his videos/cd's. He also has quite a collection of signed pictures, picture discs, rare box collection. If I had to choose a second then it would have to be Robbie Williams.. think he is awesome and would love to see him live
