Its far more important that I find a job....to keep me in the luxury Ive become accustomed to smile wink
I dont really have an interest in cars an parking as I dont drive and always had to rely on public transport or my sturdy pair of legs. I have been grateful over the years for lifts people have given my children and I. Especially when I lived out in the sticks and unable to get to the shops/schools easily.
Important things in my life are my family and how they are. I do have other interests that I care passionately about...family comes first though.
I suppose it depends on what your priorities are in life... scratches on a car is a pain etc but I do suspect it isnt on the top of everyones list of worries when it happens.
I feel that in the other threads, mention of it are more to do with worrying about scratching others cars accidently and confict arrising because of that, and bringing their children up to be careful and respect others property. Plus, some perhaps have saved and worked hard for a luxury and want to look after it. I dont think its the most important thing to them above all else tho???

Both of the "parking" threads have mention scratches to paintwork on cars.
Is this really where we are in Western civilised society ? Half the world is starving, people are being tortured and murdered all over place, thousands are dying of disease and we are sitting here discussing whether or not it`s ok to park in parking places designated to make life a bit easier for people.
As far as I can tell, the main issue here appears to be the possible scratching of another persons paintwork !!!

That was not my issue Flower.....end of from me. lol
It all doesnt make sense To me either, but some people seem to think that cars are more important than people.
It just shows what a materialist country we live in.
Luckly there are also some that think the other way too, that people are more important than material possesions.
it is indeed all rather trivial compared to the things you mention
Imo as a "kingdom" we have become lazy and self important (if thats the right wording)
starving kids walk miles a day for water we jump in a car pop to the supermarket usually alot closer than these kids walk and then complain how hard done by we are dunno it doesnt make much sence to me
btw i dont drive lol

Ya know I was amazed at the children when I visited India, the water they carry in heavy urns (one in hand and other on head) over rocky dangerous costal paths. All for the tourist! For some thats all they do all day in the hot sun...... certainly made me think about how lucky I am and thank them for what I bought that day......

Certainly poverty, human rights and world health are more important in the great scheme of things than parking in disabled or P&C bays, no argument at all.
However, for someone whose previous threads in this forum include 'Ticking all the boxes', 'Mixed company', 'Is it a numbers game?', 'Bodybuilders ... Phoar or Yukk?' and 'Being heterosexual but possibly a bit 'girly'' to criticise a thread for not addressing the important issues in the world seems more than a tad hypocritical at best.

Then you obviously didn't read the threads with any diligence. The main issue is whether it is acceptable or not to use resources intended for a group you are not part of. Scratching of paintwork was a very minor issue indeed.

I haven't read the other threads yet, but will do.
I do not think that my car is more important than people, however, I do have a nice car that I did pay out for, and is it expecting too much for other people to have respect for people's property and not cause damage to it?
I have a big dent in my drivers door and it has damaged the paintwork, this was done by some inconciderate ass with their car door, not by some child in India carrying water.

My car is covered in dings & scratches, I'm the least pretentious person I know, and my car is waaaay down on the list of whats imoprtant to me. I mentioned it as it was relevant to the width of parking spaces.
I would hate to inadvertantly cause damage to someone elses stuff- be it Porsche or Plastic Pig though. I respect other peoples property- simple as.
Doesn't mean I don't run 5k's for charity, take an interest in local issues, try to improve myself every day......etc etc.
The best things in life are not things.

True its not life or death but I along with a good many others work hard and spend a fair amount on a nice car and to have it damaged,be it by a neaderthal or a small child,is bloody annoying to say the least and I do my bit to avoid damaging other peoples property so I expect the same in return...
Important things in life to me are the things we take for granted and are free.
Love of those around us, sunsets, beautiful landscape when driving to work and seeing the seasons changing.
My car was marked and dented while it was parked. Alas I didn't know when it happened as it was on the passenger side and I only ever get into the drivers side confused It peeves you... but........nothing you can do just deal with it. Thats my philosphy in life, for me at least. If I saw the culprit, now that would be different lol.
