Following on from the News of The World thread, i saw in yesterdays Indi, that they were going to do an article in todays paper telling us all, The Truth About Swinging !!!

Not a brilliant article - pretty run-of-the-mill, bit disappointing for the Indie. It refers to swinging most of the way through as "wife-swapping", but also includes "Alice" of Nottingham, age 41, who visited a club (which sounds like Liberation) for the first time, and found it an eye-opener, of course

Swinging has inspired insecurities, jealousies and petty rows between us (usually when we've been 'joined' by someone one of us would probably like to have been in a relationship with). But it also keeps our sex life fresh, and allows us to believe, if only for a few hours, that middle-aged people who drive a Ford Focus, shop at Asda and enjoy power ballads, can still go to the dark side.

To be honest I got distracted by the piece on Pete Doherty 
I wonder how many other swingers view what they do as that woman does, that she is sort of ashamed of the fact that she is enjoying it so much. I can't say I take that view, I enjoy it and I don't give a flying cow if some holier than thou type disapproves!

It was this quote which I took the most offense to
A. Why the hell is `fat` in the same sentance as `weird`?
B. I may not have played much, but I think I`d be pretty hard pressed to find a party where condoms are not the No.1 priority.

There wasn't a condom in sight. Contrary to all my preconceptions about gorgeous people having gorgeous group sex, like in the movies, everyone there looked fat, tired and just a bit weird.

Bloody idiotic connecting drugs and swinging, they are not closely linked at all! Most parties and munches have a no drugs rule, the most I have seen is a bit of joint smoking, never cocaine or anything hard.

I think this may have been another case of the media bending the truth a little, considering the other article on there about STD's. :undecided:
This is why swinging is some much frowned upon...
How can I say it...the journalists have to try and "ruin" it for people having a ggod time...they always have and always will, look at footballers and even Princess Di for instance..
Just to many do-gooders and likewise that havent got anything else better to do with em-selves..

What the media say about swingers dosn't really bother me. Most of the journalist are really messed up people anyway. They can write what they want. It won't stop me enjoying myself.
A friend of mine has watched all the recent programmes and is now interested in swinging because she thinks its really trendy

But, yeah, given a long enough interview, they can edit enough to distort anything
