Woohoo.. I had the last word last night!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  I promised myself to be in bed by 11pm!
What annoys the hell out of me is, I make a comment. I go back to the thread the next day. No reply.
No one will talk to me.

This whole thread is moot.
Invariably the true last word is down to the Mod who locks the thread.

this is actually a threat to the forum many are locked so prematurely,i think suspending a thread for couple of hours when things heat up or get personal would be a good idea, but both parties must be adviced and some replies deleted...
It is unfortunate that some peoples sole agenda appears to be to wind people up to the point where they become so heated that a mod feels the need to lock the thread.
Personally I think the people causing the problem should be warned off and the thread allowed to run, when it`s only two pepole winding things up.
I think they should be banned from posting for a while personally.
Agree up to a point Minxy.
In life we all have choices. People on here have the CHOICE to walk away from a thread they do not like. It's very simple to do, a click on the mouse.
A forum like this cannot always be about " fluffy bunnies " subjects. Thats nice at times but there are so many explosive topics out there to discuss, which will become heated.
Yes I have been known to " bite " when wound up and yes have had a warning myself. But I have strong views on subjects that matter to ME. Whats wrong with that?
Bottom line here is I feel that sometimes we are treated like kids and not adults. Yes people will say well behave like adults then, but we are talking about strong subjects fgs.
Its like people complaining about an advert or a telly programme they dont like, well its quite simple...don't bloody watch it then. The same thing on here, if you see a thread that is getting heated, then turn over to the next page, ignore it. Is that so hard to do? dunno
The thing I do not like the most is when a subject is hijacked. That really gets my goat to be honest, and it happens all the time, on most subjects. Even on strong subjects people with nothing to say, then say something completly irrelevant. That is my pet hate.
Right what topic next for me " fluff bunny " ? lol

Halleluya to that!
The last word for some forum users ends up in very heated debate ( which can be ok) but when it turns to using foul language and personal insults ( which is very frequent these days) then it spoils the original thread, what these guys dont realise is they are spoiling or getting a thread locked which some forum users may have wanted to post on!!!
I wanted to post on the 9/11 thread but was unable to due to it being locked.
In edit: sorry the original question was about ourselves,,,,,,,I very rarley get to have last word in our house or at work as im crap at thinking on my feet, I usually think of something brilliant to say about an hour later confused
I can, and do walk away. It has been known for me to make a barbed comment about why I'm walking away though...
Eg; "I won't respond to you again, as it's the intellectual equivalent of me taking a twelve-bore to a fencing match. I wouldn't be proud of myself if I continued."

Right .......... I am going to have the last word!!! :giggle:
Stop the arguements ........ Stop the nasty posts .... Stop being bloody awful to each other and start making the forums fun ......... like they used to be.
I joined for a giggle not the current SH*TE that seems to have become the norm!
So the last word from me is STOP! PLEASE

I love you :inlove:
While I'm all for a good, decent debate, I don't like confrontations or arguements on a personal level. I WILL put my point across but if the other person can't or doesn't want to see that maybe sometimes they ARE in the wrong then that's their problem.

If you are discussing stuff with people and there is a difference of opinion, do you just have to have the last word ??
Or...can you walk away, confident that you have made your point and without the need to keep turning the same old points over and over until everybody else in the room or in your life or whatever gets so pissed off that they really really can`t be bothered to make a comment or have a discussion with you because they know for a fact that it will just descend into tit for tat "point scoring" arguments that achieve nothing !! lol
Or what ?? lol

I can walk away, quite often I should walk away but too often I don't! redface
I tend not to carry it on though - once the "discussion" is over, it's over!
Quote by Hibernian
I just leave with a "whatever" when someone is determined to have the last word, you know that is all that is important to them and so therefore it is reasonable to assume that they are incapable of reasoned discussion.

Whatever. lol lol
in our house mr K has the last few words in every arguement/debate and thats "yes dear". lol
Problem solved, he thinks he's had the last word i hope that he has actually listened rolleyes
