after having a conversation in the north east room ... about fibbing to our "normal" friends and family ... about how we have these new friends whose houses we go to every weekend etc ... we were just wondering .... to what extent do we lie to cover our tracks in this game???
example -
arranged to meet a couple at a pub where i sing at ... my mother showed up to see me sing and asked who this couple were ... i told her that i had done a college course years ago .. and that the fem from the cpl was on the course with me and just happened to be in the pub that night....( even tho she had a yorks accent and i am a mackem) lol... so ... what lies have u told to cover your tracks ??? be good to hear lol

It's great for me, I moved 30 odd miles away to go to uni....so if they ask, I went to uni with them :smug:

In edit: Or if that excuse wears thin, I work/worked with them :-)
well most of my friends know, some work colleagues know, my sister knows, my mother keeps mentioning orgies i go off too
ffs loads of you have met my family
soo i dont really lie i just dont give all information
I am very vague generally about all my friends and acquaintainces.
That way I gloss over so many details that noone is surprised when I am sketchy about where I am going and who with.
However, for safety's sake, I have one friend who has access to an email account that has details on should she need them when I am meeting folk for the first time. She is part of my safety net... she knows what I do but isn't part of the scene.
i must admit my fibs started off, well not really fibbing, mam knew i was on an online wiccan site, and when i said was off to meet people from net she assumed witches lol
hehe i tell my son who baby sits/mum/sisters its one of my reptile friends or one of Mr B's youth organisation mates bash....birthday/retirement/promotion and so on.
I just tell them I am going out to find lots of people to have wild abandoned sex with me, and they fall about laughing at the sheer absurdity of it.
A few of my closest Female and Male friends know what I do
But couples are not usually a problem to introduce to people should the need arise .
as I just say they are business aquantainces or antique dealers or such like
Luckily an embarrasing meet up in public hasnt happend .........................YET

Fib about swinging?
I do not think I have.. but I do select my words sometime. I have simple refuse to say. In fact I have a rule, I say 'Ask her'
So far they have not, but so I have never been asked about a lady I swing with. Not true, there was a lady, once a one night stand.
I have a reputation as a square and I keep things in their boxes. So I have had no need to fib.

I think I may be about to take up poker... :giggle:
I have no friends in the uk that I haven't met through one or the other website...
so that's all fair, open and not at all a subject to be ashamed off.
outside the uk, both my parents know, as does my best friend. nobody else needs to know or would be interested in what I do with my time or who my friends are.
My Mum thought i was internet dating as she has been there for the odd phone call or text message etc, the relief on her face when i actually took BMW home to meet her was a joy to behold. When we go to parties or socials i say exactly that, its to meet friends who we speak to on the internet, and i have a few friends who know what we do
Am not too worried about family, more about work. Either way, if any of them asks my response has always been:
"A swinger? me? Like you said, I can't even get laid for want of a girlfriend = what makes you think I get laid regularly as a lifestyle? I'm off home to a fresh torrent download and new box of tissues!"
Usually puts 'em off.
