I have noticed, from whats been said here, in this thread, this forum, and elsewhere, that there is a distinct shift away from munch fever
for the past year, i have seen people get really excited about going to a munch, so much so, Dambuster even went as far as planning one, a year after one he had just attended (since cancelled)
and now, it very much seems like the spark has gone, i suppose partially through saturation of munches, with the fragmentation of the community, people are doing their own thing, on whatever site, and as a result, the diary gets pretty full, and for those with family commitments, work etc, its getting harder and harder to find a munch to go to, to get as many people to chat to as possible
recent politics, bickering, ego and stubbornness has also caused people to re-evaluate their priorities when it comes to munches, which has contributed to the general feelings of munches being a bit flat
as someone who enjoys going to munches to the point where i have been accused of being a munch whore, i find the whloe thing very sad, its part of why i choose to be involved in the community, its part of why i have enjoyed my time here, and maybe is a small part of the feelings that is making people feel a general apathy, or as some has intimated "i dont belong here" or at the very least, question why they want to be here (and yes, i am one of those)

As the Social mentioned by Darkfire was the first munch / social we had attended since the now famous Manchester Munch (and we didn't see anything untoward there either) we wondered how the social would go. We were warned beforehand to be very discreet etc. But to be honest we had a great time, we did do our normal amount of snogging with friends and met some new people as always.
As the attendance was only about 50 people it made a good change from the more (can't think of the right word here so will use) "intense" Munch with over 200 people attending.
We think that Munches are still great fun and perhaps we "old hands" should try and remember how exciting the first ones were for us. Maybe recent members think the Munches they have been to were pretty great as well.

I've certainly been put off attending now.
The thought that my every action, may be scrutinised and flung back as dirt on the forum particularly! My behaviour has never passed anything worse than flashing my tits at someone, or posing for a pic that's always been treated as a giggle previously :(

Problem is now you have a mind set of how you will behave so its obvious its going to be a different experience this time around. Why not just go with the flow when you get there and see what happens. I find it quite hard to think that there are now people at munchs waiting round to see who does what then post it on the forum, thats just sad.
I thought we didnt want the press at munchs lol

Why not just go with the flow when you get there and see what happens. Problem is that I'm quite flirty at munches once I've relaxed and whilst my behavious isn't spectacularly offensive, the behaviour that I tend to go with the flow with has been suggested as being offensive and out of order ...... same sex snogging, groping, revealing clothing, cheeky flashing (as for the tit pic jigsaws).
All of these things have added excitement to my munch attendance. It's been a giggle and now I see munches as a night out with my vanilla friends :(
I'll enjoy myself no doubt .... but in the same manner as going out with non swinging friends. Munches have always been, for me personally, a form of foreplay.

Well I guess I will have to wait and see what happens at the next event we attend but with the things the way they are on the forum at the moment I am glad that its likely to be a looooooooong time before we get anywhere near an event again. The last event we went to wasent very long ago at all but if it make any difference all the things you mentioned above were going on as normal and no one batted an eyelid.

Hey lets not get things out of proportion. You get what you put in at these events. There is aleays going to be the occasional stepping out of line by the odd one or two. I believe mostly unintentionally but hey look there tends to be a lot of alcohol consumed at these events.
I think there is far less overt behaviour at a Munch/Social than there is at many Clubs and Pubs throughout the U.K. In fact it still amazes me that no matter how often you tell a virgin Muncher how little 'Activity' goes on until they experience it themselves the idea that its an orgy still prevails.
Too those posting who are felling a little down aty the moment should really not do so. It is thanks to the veteran Munchers that the events have taken off in such a massive way worship

Seriously guys give yourselves a pat on the back.
I for one really really enjoy the intimidation free easy time Munches/Socials allow me to enjoy anf thank those arranging and attending. Personally i owe you all a debt which i cant even begin to explain.
Things change and evolve. It is the way of things. Though aspects once enjoyed by some may go, the generality of the increasing success is testament to the people who have lead the way.

I've only been to one Munch and had a great time. A few snogs was as about as racy as it got in the venue.
Later on that night I woke up in my hotel bed to see a fully kilted bloke come into my room and into my bed. Wrapped his arms around me and promptly fell asleep. Woke up again to see him, still fully kilted up, leaving my room about 3 hours later!
Munches... what's the fuss about??

Why cant there be something so simple for example..... munch to be held where ever.........cat:1 active swingers....cat :2 swingers on a braek ......cat:3 swingers who dont want to swing but enjoy a piss up....or are we missing the point ? or cat:4 all of us and lets enjoy a good night and dont judge people...... we got into this scene for fun not politics.....and most of all after we read the forums today we are astounded by the negativties.... wake up and smell the coffee we dont mean to offend anybody by this but for gods sake its like being back at school.....we are grown ups and therfore want to be treated like adults mad

does that make sense or are we talking rubbish tell us we wont be offended.

Having had several PM's with descriptions of what happened (no names mentioned) I have removed my previous post on this thread. I have removed them as I think this is way way way out of proportion in relation to what happened. To think these kinds of things wouldent happen at a swingers event once a few drinkies

have been consumed is beyond stoopid. It would be a bit like going to nightclub and thinking that everyone there would be really well behaved and no one would have a fight all night rolleyes

Appropriate action seems to have been taken against those involved and that should be the end of it I dont see what all the fuss is about dunno

If we continue to make scenes like this out of such minor issues we may as well all give up and go home.
Thinking back actually I have read about two past events that were worse that this and no such fuss was made about either of those.

you know what? i'm sick of hearing about the disgusting behaviour at the the North West, where allegedly this couple were putting on a live sex show and fucking eachother stupid on the dance floor, cos you know what, noone i know saw any of it, and trust me, i've asked around? ((( bart? this is not to say i don't appreciate you bringing it up, cos ta, i'm glad i have a chance to post my feelings! ;) )))
as many others have said, who were actually there, bopping about all over t'place, none of us saw it, don't know WTF you're on about, and until I see a ban list from the NW, it's all hearsay as far as i'm concerned! the NW was a bloody successful munch. yes, there may have been about just as much sexual activity as you might see in any night club in the north, cos people shag all the time in nightclubs? that does not reflect in any way on SH, munches, or the general behaviour of the membership!? i really don't see why we need to make it reflect on any of 'em?

Neil I had exactly the same feelings as you, but I have since spoken to someone who witnessed what happened and I have no reason to disbelieve them, or to think they are causing problems to suit their own agenda. Given this, I'm inclined to believe that it did happen.
