I am waiting for a suitable time elapse, so you don’t think it’s just a knee-jerk reaction.
I am also trying to cook Bolognese.
Multitasking, how hard can it be.

Not at all hard if you're a woman. If you're a man though, that's an entirely different matter. lol

Yes, but no citations... just scotch mist with no proof! No names of forces, no names of anyone... just 'banned by the police'. NOTHING concrete in there at all, Urban myths abound.
cool

Interesting thread, especially in light of the slating I got when I referred to Scottish folk and other items originating in Scotland as Scotch.
So Jags, according to you and a few other Scotch folk Scotch is Whisky is it?
So is Scotch mist Whisky mist then? Or is it in fact a wet, low-lying mist common in the Scottish Highlands as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary? Because as far as I recall English still is the language of the Scotch.
Here are a few more, paraphrased from the Concise Oxford English Dictionary :
Scotchman - Archaic term to describe a man originating from Scotland
Scotch woman - Archaic term to describe a woman originating from Scotland.
Scotch Whisky - Alcoholic beverage originating from Scotland (As opposed to Irish
Whiskey - which originates from…errrr, Ireland)
Scotch Pancake - A type of drop scone originating from Scotland
Scotch Porridge - Porridge made from Scotch Oats
Scotch Oats - Cereal crop, Oat variant grown principally in Scotland
Scotch Mist - A heavy wet mist common in the Scottish highlands
Scotch Broth - A thick beef or mutton soup made with pearl barley and originating from
Scotland.
Scotch Egg - A savoury delicacy of egg and sausage meat originating from Scotland.
Scotch Terrier - Another name for a Scottish Terrier.

What’s the big deal? Is it really about two little letters?
It appears to be another type of Political Correctness. Similar to that which consigned other words used in common parlance like Manhole and Blackboard to the literary wasteland. As far as I am concerned the PC brigade can stick it’s rules up it’s person-hole. If it is English and it is in the dictionary you can use it, despite what the word fascists say.
You need to put yourself into a cold shower and get chilled out. What I actually said was that only the illiterate now refer to Scotch in relation to the people. Knickers and twist come to mind. NOTHING wrong in calling anything else Scotch, though the Scots themselves use it for whisky.
You can call it whatever you like - Orange Mist, Welsh Mist, English Mist - don't care, never have cared - only seems to be you who is caring. At least your dictionary is more reliable than your map of the UK!!!

I used to work in homecare and the elderly people used to be called "clients" as they paid for a service....
now they have to be called "service users"

So, are men/women who visit prostitutes, 'service users' then? lol

Everything? Such as?

I burp after food and drink, I fart, I fall asleep after sex and forget anniversaries.
I’m hairy; I have a love of anorakie anoraky things.
I will tell you your arse looks big in that and mean it.
I like action movies, and will avoid chick flicks whenever possible…..
I will look at other women.

Would it be more correct to call it African Coffee? .....or is that not PC. What if I called it South American Coffee? In South America coffee is drunk with no additives.

Perhaps where the Americano coffee comes from? Several coffee chains use this term for black coffee.
confused
Yes but is it PC?
Could we use a French word to describe black coffee.
