Go on then - I'll post the question.
What is your perfect pancake - traditional thin, Yorkshire drop scone, French crepe, American breakfast pancake?
What about toppings - anyone got any fancy-dandy ones as a change from lemon and sugar?
And the critical question - do you toss?
Personally love any style served hot with a sweet topping - the key thing is - they must be made by someone else.
Basic pancakes here with sugar and lemon. lol but no tossing!!

I've not yet come across a recipe that in any way replicates the crepes you can buy all over the place from vendor stalls on the streets of Paris, much to my disappointment. American pancakes, pah! Nowt American about 'em. I have no idea what a Yorkshire drop scone is? You sure about that?
*wanders off to make Scottish drop scones with butter, lemon and golden syrup on 'em.*

Yorkshire has go far more in common with Scotland than it does with dahn Sarf. So shall we agree to 'Northern' drop scones?
Now then, have you had Staffordshire oatcakes? Delicious and hearty made similar to pancakse but leavened with yeast and empowered with oatmeal - fabulous rolled and heated with bacon and cheese inside.
Traditional thin panckaes here with fresh orange juice and sugar .... perfect smile Others in the family had different toppings but i like orange or lemon with sugar best.
Even better is that i didnt make them, eldest daughter did and she also washed the pan up after !!

I may allow that, yes, so long as everyone understands they were Scottish first? I have to say that, me Mam'll kill me otherwise. :P

I think I could possibly eat such a thing? Bacon and cheese you say? That might work, with more bacon and less cheese with lots and lots of maple syrup. Nyoms. That's my one concession to the Yanks.
You cannot beat a good crepe, especially with ice cream and Grand Marnier.
