I felt that I needed to unburden myself from an event SO traumatic, it has taken me 24 hours to be able to type about it, and where better than this super forum, where I know I will receive the sympathy and caring hugs that I need, from intelligent and supportive people.
There are, in my life, as I suspect there are in yours, some things I have a mild dislike of....cabbage, littering, rude people and getting a paracetamol stuck on my tongue when I am taking one, so that I taste its nastiness blink
Then there are things Ireallydont like such as Michael Winner, slugs, people hawking loogies on the pavement, marmite and Peter Stringfellow in a thong :eeek:
BUT there are two things that are the stuff of nightmares for me, that I have an intense hatred, nay abhorrence of, and thats bananas......and cold custard with a skin on it
So what do I do yesterday, because I love my hubby and kids so very much....combined the fecking two of those things into their most favourite pud of all time........MANCHESTER TART!!!!!
For those that dont know (and here, I have to have a break whilst I steel myself)

.....and breathe...
manchester tart is a pastry case (sometimes lined with a thin layer of jam, filled with chopped bananas, topped with custard which is then chilled until it goes cold and hard and gets......gulp....a skin on it (insert vomiting smily here)
my stomach churned like a cement mixer as they ate it, and i felt myself go all cold and clammy, and feel very VERY sick....rather like Im going now, just thinking about it.
So please PLEASE come and whisper me words of comfort, and stroke my brow soothingly, for I fear, that for showing my family the utmost sacrifice...I am mentally scarred for life.
Have any of you ever done anything SO selfless for your nearest and dearest??
Marriage?
bolt
:giggle:
Callie
Mmmmmmmm I lurve Manchester tarts lol not so keen on the skinny bits though.
I used to 'bake' Lemon meringues for the ex, till he found the Sara Lee box in the bin one day lol
Yes I gave birth to his children! not once, not twice but three times  see how much I love him :inlove:
I silently bashed an enormous daddy-longlegs from next to my sick sister's hospital bed, when normally we'd both be screaming the place down
- I also caught my one year old nephew's poo in my hands so it wouldnt go on his mum's new carpet - does either of those count?
lol

It rather depends on the consistency of the poo lol

" That`s ok, after all it was only a little spider, there`s really no need to be afraid of them"
redface

Not quite my loved ones, but I have been heard to say just those words to the kids in my class on occasion redface
One time, there was a particularly girly girl who found a particularly huge spider in the sink. One of my lovely boys rolled his eyes and said 'shall I throw it outside miss?' so I replied, 'that would be the kindest thing to do, yes', whilst thinking 'kill the bloody thing!' :scared:
I even gave him a treat from my prize box for being so sensible and thoughtful (for spider and girl) biggrin
