Well, I killed this interesting thread a long time ago, so I thought I might revive it. One of the good ones.

4 channels??? Luxury.. When they introduced ch.4, we had to wait 3 years for them to update the TV masts in our area so we could get it... rolleyes
And we still cant get ch.5 through our TV aerial confused
My Telly is Black and White and only BBC. (is there another channel ?) and only broadcasts only four hours a day.
My fav prog., is Andy Pandy. Is Watershed a gardening prog that I miss ?

Good point Fred. As this is a swinging website (for adults only), we should perhaps only be allowed to post on the forums after 9pm, and the rest of the day just have a test card showing. lol

What about newspapers only being black and white ?? blink
I can't remember the first newspaper to go colour or the year, sorry.

Think the first colour newspaper was Eddy Shah's 'Today'.. In fact, a quick google brought up this..
March 4 1986 - launch of the Today by Eddy Shah, sold as the first national colour newspaper.
Sept 14 1986 - launch of the Sunday Sport newspaper.
On all the sweets that everybody misses, a quick trip to Makro will find you 90% of these.. bought a box of swizzles drumsticks the other day biggrin
One of the things I used to love as a kid were 'bones' from smiths crisps.. cool black packet.. instant playground credibility if you had them in your lunchbox.. (which was a proper metal one, not one of these naff plastic ones they have today)
And I really miss the fact that when I was a kid, I and my parents knew and spoke to everyone on our street (and most of the surrounding ones).. Nowadays, I know my neighbour to the left of me.. that’s it.. confused
One of the things I don't miss is our primary schools ravioli..

The Clangers were cool, but not quite as good as Chorlton & The Wheelies, at least in my opinion. Having said that, it's the complete Bagpuss that has pride of place in my DVD collection.

Rhubard and Custard were Great biggrin
Also used to like Ivor the Engine, and the Dragons (wish I could do the accent) :D
I remember the Polar Bear that advertised a fizzy drink, was it lemonade confused: He used to say 'Its Frothy man' . As a kid I loved him :D
Then there was my favourite comic, called 'Action' It got banned in the end I believe, damn shame
Wish I still had my Raleigh Chopper, worth a lot more than the £25, I sold it for :D
