finally after a month i have moved out of a bnb and back into my home
i used to think i could sleep/stay anywhere but the first night back into my own bed was pure bliss :thrilled:
still lots of work to do(unpacking cleaning decorating etc) but it has made me think how much we all rely on things in our own homes, things like sole use of internet, being able to pop down stairs for a drink naked redface even just being able to cook is a bonus now and not sleeping in same room as the kids
now im home i dont think i will ever leave or want to stay anywhere else :inlove:
so could you cope having to leave your home and possessins for more than a few nights at the drop of a hat and what things would you find difficult confused: :?:
my bed allways available down here in leicester cosy warm and lots of loving xxx

I agree Tan, its nice for a bit....like when you go on your hols, to have different things around you, but to do it for longer is really hard.
you do take stuff for granted, even down to the way you use things....you get so you do things automatically....things like program the video, use the microwave, where you put things and so on.
When you are somewhere different, with different machines and stuff, you have to actually THINK....god how do i use this, how/where do I even turn it on, or you find yourself looking in a drawer for something and finding its not there, because youre not in your own home (where you would usually find it)
now...having read that....i'm confused lol so I can only hope that you all know what Im on about
but there is NOTHING like your own bed, and the best time is coming back to it after a hospital stay having slept in a nasty starchu rusling hospital bed.
What happened exactly hun? did you have a flood?
Anyway, I agree with you, there is nothing quite like home, it's your security blanket and it's yours.
Nice to see you are back where you belong petal kiss
Since joining the swinging scene, I have been in more hotel beds than Alan Whicker, but still look forward to getting home, and sleeping in my own bed

right heres the short story - enter 3 weeks of workmen 2 days in they are doing a full house rewire, down falls the walls and the stairs end up on top on my pc  (luckily it was ok) then in comes some council officials saying its unfit to stay here and puts me in a bnb where i stayed for a month til they put things right i had to run around like headless chicken trying to think of things i needed and could not get upstairs to get any clothes or anything
oh it was a nightmare i have relyed on friends to cook or have takeaways every night and only been able to get on my friends internet when i can prize her 13 year old of hers but now im home sweet home and never ever leaving again

Wb Tan xxx you missed nowt, of course! lol
I moved house 14 times in 6 and 1/2 years, I was homeless for sometime during that and had to kip on sofas, floors and even the great outdoors. You'd think I could sleep anywhere but that was all a lifetime ago and I'm settled now.
God, I love my bed!
I went to Blackpool over the weekend and while it was ok, I couldn't wait to get back to my own bed - and my own toilet!!!
Going away is nice but coming home is even better.

I'm going through that moving constantly stange at the moment. I don't have a bed to my name anymore though. Over the last 5 months I've slept in 6 different peoples spare beds (majority alone I might add). Three different peoples sofa's (including my parents) and two different peoples floors. Each time having to cart all of my worldly belongings. At the moment I'm living with my uncle in a foreign city and sleeping in the dogs bed (with the dog).
Sometimes life just gets that little bit hectic.
Can somebody please tell me what its like to have their own bed again. I can't remember....

cool
Know exactly what you mean about the comfort and bliss of being in one's own bed...Maybe it has something to do with how we felt getting into bed as children (certainly think it has as far as I am concerned)
I remember being told as a child in the mornings when the sheets were being changed and that evening I would look forward to bed sooooooooo much!!! lol
I would slip beneath the sheets without trying to disturb them and luxuriate in the cool, crisp, clean-smelling new bed linen before resting my head on the equally fabulous plumped-up fresh pillow.
Would be asleep in minutes. Safe and secure.
Pure bliss!!!! smile

 i loved my bed as a child i had a big fluffy blanket as a middle sheet (does anyone hav them anymore????) it was kinda my security blanket which i could curl up inside and be invisible to every one else my son still uses the same blanket for the same reason and has slept with it every day since he was 18 months (evil mam still tries to nick it off him when she feeling low though  )
Awwww D&T sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident.
We always have weekends away or go away on holiday and about half an hour from home we get really excited about getting back to our own house and own surroundings.
We have a routine where we put the kettle on, close all the curtains (even during the day) turn the central heating on (unless it's boiling outside) make a cuppa and watch DVD's and TV after dragging a quilt downstairs and curling up on the sofa. Pure heaven.
Like the IKEA advert says there is no place like home!!

Yes, I had one of these for my daughter when she was little, it's a mattress protector also but I think if I'm right it just gives extra warmth in the winter.. brill.
I'm also with De_Sade.. I would love to be that kid again being wrapped up in my mam's clean 'sunday' sheets!
The only thing better than your own bed.......is that cute neighbours bed!!!!!!!!!!
